High demand for sun and beach holidays

The late and cold spring has created great demand for sun and bathing holidays this summer. Bookings to sun and bathing destinations are up 5 per cent compared to already record high levels last year, according to booking statistics from Ticket. Here you can see the five most booked charter destinations this summer:

Swedes choose 'mini breaks'

The new trend of "mini breaks" is on the rise, according to Resia. "Mini breaks" refers to trips of 4-5 days, not necessarily in conjunction with a weekend. A survey conducted by SIFO on behalf of Resia showed that Swedes would rather go on several short trips than a few long ones. Here are the most popular destinations for a mini break, according to Resia (click on the links to read more about our destinations):

Direct flights from Växjö to Amsterdam

If you live close to Växjö you can soon fly directly to Amsterdam. KLM is launching a new route from Växjö to the Dutch capital, with daily departures from 14 May.

Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi focuses on training.

Last summer was the first time the Icehotel was able to offer its guests an overnight stay among snow and ice art in the middle of summer. Now you can also spend a weekend of exercise and health, coached by Pilates Complete. The package organised in July includes Pilates and Garuda yoga sessions, rafting in the Torne River, wilderness supper, ice sculpting, sauna and a refreshing swim in the Torne River.

World's largest underwater restaurant to open in Norway

The underwater restaurant 'Under' has started construction and is expected to open in spring 2019 in Sprangereid in southern Norway. Approximately six metres below the surface, the restaurant will feature a large glass wall with a view of life below the surface. The restaurant will have 100 seats and serve local delicacies such as seafood, seabirds and wild lamb. Reservations opened on 1 February, so you can book a table now.
