Good and bad days are part of life. Yesterday the sun was shining and the Pampas marina was at its very best. The small boats puffed in and out and our houseboat neighbours were sunbathing on their patios. I myself had a migraine and lay in the bed at the bottom of the boat just all day. But I'm not complaining! We also have a lot of fun to look forward to.
Migraine ... and window cleaning
Although the weather was fantastic yesterday, it was not a good day for me (Helena). I lay down in bed with a migraine all day. It has been stressful at work for quite a long period, and on top of that there has been a lot to deal with when it comes to the blog. When it then became a late (and very nice!) Evening on Friday, it triggered it all ...
Peter had much more energy and took the opportunity to clean the windows and scrub the patio. He also invited me to perch fillet in cream sauce with boiled potatoes and broccoli. It's good to have him home again!
Good and bad days
I'm not writing about my migraine so that someone will feel sorry for me. Most people have their misery to deal with, whether it be ailments or other types of concerns or worries. It is part of life. Maybe I want to tell you so that we don't appear as bloggers who pretend that everything is "perfect" and glamorous all the time ...
You have good and bad days, and even though yesterday was definitely mostly bad for me, we also have fun things going on. Amongst other things, we have been offered an exciting trip to midsummer, which we will soon tell you more about. Today I hope I will feel better, and then we have planned to shop for some clothes that we may need on the trip. Wish you a really nice Sunday!
Ruth in Virginia says:
I've heard that migraines are hell to deal with. Hope
It will go away by Sunday. I myself have had a headache
if I ever had a fever, but it's nothing.
Had a great time at the high school party. Living in the very best
cul-de-sac you can imagine. And the weather was perfect.
The picture with the view of Kristineberg is so beautiful, that
it almost hurts. Sun glitter! Wonderful! Hugs!

Migraines are hell, actually. Nobody wants that! Great that it was nice yesterday! I had never heard of cul-de-sac, so I had to google it 😉 You always learn things in the blog world! 🙂

Says my three-year-old, Blah! Blah for migraines. Hope you feel better and can enjoy Sunday and the nice weather. Now I became curious what kind of trip you have going on?/ Pernilla

Migraines are really blah!!! Will tell you about the trip soon 😉

Ama de casa says:
That's right. There are both good and bad days for everyone. I hope you feel much better - preferably completely well! - today.
I also have to wash windows again soon. Did it not too long ago, but these damn sandy rains... They come on those bad days and create more work. A clear inland problem, but still so annoying 🙂.
10 June 2018 - 8:53
Helena says:
I feel much better today, thank you! But it usually takes a few days before I feel completely good again. Gets completely exhausted as well ... Fortunately, Peter does the windows, but he has some manick that he thinks is good 😉 .

Anette says:
Of course you have good and bad days, that's just part of life. Migraines, of course, can be avoided. I never have headaches, except the day after a big night of partying.
Well done Peter for taking the opportunity to be useful when you are bedridden. I wait to clean the windows until after the first rain comes, all the pollen will make the panes stripy. If there is no rain then I don't have to clean.
Hope you feel better today.
10 June 2018 - 10:24
Helena says:
It sounds like you have a good plan when it comes to window washing! 🙂 Migraines are a misery, so be glad you don't have them!

Emma, sun like sun? says:
Sure, it's not all sunshine all the time, but that's so that you know how good you have it - really.
Window cleaning. F-n how boring. And I promise, if I clean the windows (or wash the car, for that matter) there will be - just as Ama mentioned - a shower of sand. Or there will be a bird or three. I don't know how the birds do it when they splatter a horizontal surface like that, they have to align themselves and zoom past!
- Yes! Bullseye!
I can imagine that you are having just the right amount of fun with seagulls. Here there are pigeons and parakeets! Among other things ...
10 June 2018 - 10:49
Helena says:
Yes, the bad days do help you appreciate the good ones! Unfortunately, migraines always make me a bit anxious, but I just have to make the best of the situation. Sand foxes don't sound fun when msn is cleaning windows! Sure, seabirds shit here sometimes, but not so bad. Mostly we have spiders on the windows and plenty of cobwebs 😉.

Anna in Dubai says:
Get well soon Helena! Migraines are no fun. How is it to be sick in a boat? Difficult that it rocks or the other way round - quite nice? Maybe you are used to it now though. When we sail at home in Sweden, I usually love being rocked to the sea (as long as you do not SLOW from side to side).
10 June 2018 - 11:08
Helena says:
Normally I like it to rock. But when I feel sick (which I do when I have a migraine) no, the rocking is actually not fun ... 😉.

Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
That life has "ups and downs" is just what life is. I have been spared from migraine (today's very heavy head is completely self-inflicted, after our nice barbecue).
It will be exciting to see where you go around midsummer. It must be great fun for you, as you work with your blog, when fun offers come in.
10 June 2018 - 11:37
Helena says:
Nice that you avoid headaches, except after party nights then 😉 It is super fun when exciting offers come in! We can not say yes to everything (I have a job to do) but it is perfect when it can be placed around weekends and red days 🙂 We will soon tell you more about the midsummer trip!

Maria / Magnolia Magis says:
Damn migraines...! It's not fun. But luckily it will pass! Hope you feel better today! I had sunburn yesterday with a headache after standing on a fence out in the heat and sun yesterday. But it was nice cars.;) Soon it will be midsummer and it will be exciting to see what you will do! We have not thought that far yet...;D Have a good time!
10 June 2018 - 12:21
Helena says:
Sun can give me a headache too! We do not usually plan things like midsummer far in advance really. But this year it fell over us 😉 .

åsa in åsele says:
Life is a constantly ongoing roller coaster with ups and downs, that's how it is for most of us, as a "big, famous blogger" to point out that you Helena are also human is nice ... not that I think you should have to feel shit, migraines are the devil's invention 😉 but I hope you understand how I think ... it is easy to imagine that you live in the worst glamour, luxury life and just glide around on a shrimp sandwich 😀
I hope you're doing well and that Sunday is full of fun.
10 June 2018 - 12:28
Helena says:
I can understand if it looks like that sometimes! We get the chance to be part of many fantastic things, we are aware of that! At the same time, we work hard for it and have to make some sacrifices along the way, such as financial security, health (sometimes) and having completely free time ... We think we live a fantastic life, but there are downsides too, with stress, anxiety and headaches for example. So it will probably be a more honest blog if we tell you that it's not always glamour 😉.

Matts Torebring says:
I think it's good to recognise, have the strength to be able to do it and see all the weaknesses we have. Next thing you know there will be encouragement and good advice. Get well soon

Helena says:
thank you so much Matts! You are not strong all the time ...

Veiken says:
Migraines sound incredibly annoying. I hope it has disappeared today. That's how it is - life consists of good and bad days.
I hate cleaning windows. They never get the way I want them. GRRR.... luckily there are two of us so we can help each other!
10 June 2018 - 15:47
Helena says:
Thanks!!! The migraine has gotten better, but after an "attack" I tend to have a bunch of sensitive days when it comes and goes... I feel like you do about window cleaning, but Peter seems happy with his Kärcher gadget.

Terrible with migraines, my wife has been affected but has gotten better over the years!
I had my bad year last year, but now I'm back on track!
And of course you live nicely on the boat and luckily Peter is good at cleaning 🙂 ðŸ™'
Take care and get well.....

Helena says:
Thank you very much! Yes, migraines are a misery... Glad you're back on track! 🙂

BP says:
I know exactly how miserable you felt yesterday. As I said, you have a few years left until menopause when migraine attacks actually decrease drastically in number. Something to look forward to;-)
Window cleaning, along with cleaning in general, is the most boring thing in the world.
Fun with a trip to Midsummer. Will be fun to read where you are going.
10 June 2018 - 22:06
Helena says:
I hope the migraines get better in menopause. My mum's probably did. But my grandmother's didn't get better until she was 90 ... but she had ten migraine-free years!

Life is like that. And for some, that includes migraines. I am so happy that I almost never have migraines nowadays. Although I can still feel "a little bit" from time to time.
