We have selected 10 interesting motorhomes at Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2018, which we present today. These are not necessarily our favourite motorhomes, but they are the ones we have found that stand out through new ideas, creative design, technical solutions or maybe just a bit of cosiness.

10 motorhomes at Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2018
The ten motorhomes that we are presenting today are motorhomes that we ran across on the Elmia exhibition and which are either new this year or somehow caught our interest. Are you particularly curious about any of these? Or maybe you saw another motorhome at the fair that you liked? Please note that we will show "ploughshares" some other day!
1. Bürstner with rear sofa group
The Bürstner Ixeo I 746 is available with a new interior. There is a sofa group at the back, and a double bed can be folded down from the ceiling above it. This model has, among other things, a tall fridge and a nice bathroom. We also like the high window at the back, nice!

6. Chausson with two living room doors
The Chausson 711 offers a very creative solution with its two (!) living area doors. Why you need two doors is not entirely clear, but it is certainly innovative. The car is also equipped with four (!) pilot seats and a sofa group in the rear.

- Total weight (load weight): No data available
- Number of seats/beds: 4/4
- Price (basic price): SEK 795 000
7. Chausson with long beds at the front
Chausson is the motorhome manufacturer that dares to think outside the box. The Chausson 630 has long beds just behind the driver's seats, and two more long beds can be folded down from the roof. When driving, you convert to forward-facing seats with belts. A bit like Goofy's caravan on Christmas Eve. The toilet is at the back of the motorhome.
- Length: 6.99 metres
- Total weight (load weight): No data available
- Number of seats/beds: 4/4
- Price (basic price): SEK 699 000
8. LMC with rear seating area
LMC unveiled an interior solution with a large rear seating area in its LMC Explorer Premium I 650G. Here you can fold down a bed at the front, and convert the seating area into a bed, or into two belted seats.

- Number of seats/beds: 4/4
- Price (basic price): SEK 994,260
9. Dethleffs Alpa Fully integrated
Dethleffs now presents this Alpa I 7820-2 in a fully integrated model, where a bed is folded down over the driver's area, so that this area is completely covered. This motorhome also has a large, cosy kitchen.

- Price (basic price): 1 239 000 SEK
10. Carthago Liner "For two"
In the Carthago Liner for two 53, a double bed is also electronically folded down over the driver's cabin, so that this part is completely covered. At the rear, there is a large seating area suitable for those who want to entertain many guests.
- Length: 7.83 metres
- Total weight (load weight): 4500 (missing data) kilograms
- Number of seats/beds: 4/2+2
- Price (with shipping): 1 945 600 SEK

Helena says:
The most important thing is that you find what you like! We are also keen on a smaller motorhome 🙂 .

Maria/ Magnolia Magis says:
Always fun to see new ideas but we are so happy to have changed our motorhome to a caravan and smaller campervan! The Land River Defender only lacks a toilet... ?
11 September 2018 - 9:17
Helena says:
Great that you are happy and enjoying yourself! 🙂

Deciree says:
Fun to look around at motorhomes but luckily we are not keen to change husbil☺️. These new solutions that the bed comes down above the driver's seats are nothing that impresses me anyway?
11 September 2018 - 9:21
Helena says:
I don't think I would choose that solution either, although I like new ideas! Then there is something for everyone! 🙂
11 September 2018 - 15:13
Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
Isn't it fun to look at the new stuff? We also sank into the sofa group in the back of the Burstner. Very cosy with the high window. Then it is perhaps more practical with a seating area and a ready-made bed for two people....
We also saw several models with a slightly deeper worktop, which provides a slightly better workspace. That's not bad at all!
11 September 2018 - 10:07
Helena says:
Isn't it fun to look at new models! Thought there was some new thinking this year! 🙂

Husis blog says:
Chausson with two living room doors missed the owners completely. It would be fun to see how they solved the interior environment if they can fit another door so it was a shame.
The owners weren't keen on the cars with a rear sofa but liked the Dethleffs Alpha's kitchen environment which was really airy and nice.
11 September 2018 - 10:17
Helena says:
It was a bit special, fun! The furniture in the front consisted of four pilot chairs instead of a sofa.
11 September 2018 - 15:34
Lennart says:
This year we barely looked at motorhomes, spending our time on other things!
11 September 2018 - 11:07
Helena says:
There are many other things you can do at Elmia too! 🙂
11 September 2018 - 15:34
GeddFish says:
I looked at your pictures, even though a vehicle is out of the question for me. It gave me a cosy feeling, because I know how much I enjoyed it when there were two of us.
Take care! The day after tomorrow I'm going south by bus! 😀
11 September 2018 - 11:08
Helena says:
It is cosy to live in a motorhome 🙂 Have a nice trip!!!!

Role o Carina says:
Sure, motorhomes change a bit every year, but it's fun to watch!
We are so happy with our Adria Coral Supreme -17 with Alde 🙂 .
But Frankia's 890 GD-2019 looks promising too!
Take care.......
11 September 2018 - 11:59
Helena says:
Glad you're happy! We understand that Frankian was interesting, we missed checking it out unfortunately.

Our Vantastic Travels says:
Nice pictures as usual, but there were no big cars that interested us this year. No, now we are only interested in small cars as we have discovered all the advantages of these small vehicles.
Nice to meet and chat for a while. We look forward to your post!
Enjoy!

Plans will be in tomorrow's post! Super fun to see! 🙂

Ditte says:
Thanks for the report with nice descriptions. Nice to see some of the range even if we are not going to have a motorhome or caravan.
11 September 2018 - 12:33
Helena says:
Glad you liked our report Ditte! 🙂

Anna | Boihusbil says:
But you have missed the new Frankia 890 🙂 We have not been to the fair, but I saw it at Forsbergs before the fair. I think it is absolutely fantastic. But we are very happy with our 840, so we do not intend to change. But looking and appreciating goes well without paying.
11 September 2018 - 13:44
Helena says:
Several people have commented on it, so we realise that we have missed an interesting motorhome. It was a little short of time this time. Nice that you are happy with your car! 🙂
11 September 2018 - 23:00
Leffe says:
Large sofa group in motorhome !!! Type caravan model.
What are they for? As far as I can see, there are mostly two people in each motorhome. After 14 years of motorhoming, you rarely see families with children travelling HB
I think the trend is towards smaller HBs like plåtis. Cheaper with all the fees out in Europe.
11 September 2018 - 18:14
Helena says:
I also think the trend is towards flatbed, though with a parallel trend of large motorhomes... I personally wouldn't choose a large rear seating area either, but we heard quite a few people who seemed to like this solution.
12 September 2018 - 8:04
Monet says:
Interesting. I think it is strange with so few cars with long beds, which is the only option for us who can sleep in the same space but in our own bed that should not be messed up every night. We had LMC before and note that our former Liberty well fills the same smart functions and solutions as the new ones. A million more expensive! Agree that if we were to resume motorhome life, it would be a pain. We want to get closer to all destinations, be able to drive and park in urban and village environments and not drive big monsters. I definitely believe in vans and smaller motorhomes!!!
11 September 2018 - 18:15
Helena says:
I think long beds are still very common, even if we didn't photograph many of them. We chose to photograph what is new or stands out, and there were some new interior design solutions. But long beds are popular and are available in many different models. We're also keen on flat beds! 🙂
12 September 2018 - 8:05
Matts Torebring says:
You missed the best car, the Concorde Charisma 900 M. Once you've landed there, like us, you've reached the top and don't need to look any further. It took us 19 years to learn how to get there. On the way there, your presentation probably fits into different conditions.
11 September 2018 - 19:02
Helena says:
Glad you found the car you like! We certainly missed several interesting cars. There was a lot to look at 😉
12 September 2018 - 8:08
BP says:
Know too little about motorhomes, but one stands out here - for me, that is, and it is the sixth - Chausson. Finally a motorhome that has opted out of brown interior, looks delicious on the outside and does not cost the shirt; -)
11 September 2018 - 19:20
Helena says:
Chausson also stands out because they are a bit creative and don't make their motorhomes like everyone else, and that's kind of fun 🙂.
12 September 2018 - 8:09
Across the board says:
You didn't miss that the Pilot doesn't have rear-view mirrors, did you?
By the way, I'm not at all fond of the cars that have round seats in the back - there's far too much "bumping" when you go to bed.
12 September 2018 - 7:32
Helena says:
I didn't think about the rear view mirrors, but Peter seems to have noted that they have small cameras... Personally, I think like you, I don't want a round seating area in the back either, but we met several people who seemed to like that solution. There is something for everyone ... 😉 .
12 September 2018 - 8:10
Göran Hallborg says:
I think the trend of seating in the stern is very good. The Hymer DUO 634 was our favourite. But now there are more and more cars with this layout. We think this is good. We have a Hymer T 698 CL from 2016 that we are happy with.
12 September 2018 - 20:17
Helena says:
The rear seating area was a clear trend, so if you like it there is a lot to choose from! Great that you are happy with your motorhome! 🙂
13 September 2018 - 6:25
Elisabeth says:
Always fun to look, but none of these are attractive. Ellen is still good enough, but if we were to change, it would be to a smaller car, but not a tiny one.
