It's time to show caravans at Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2018. We usually write more about motorhomes than caravans, but we saw some caravans that stood out and that we would like to show. We'll also say a few words about the electric bikes we looked at and some conclusions from the whole fair. Were you there? What were your conclusions?

Conclusions from the Electricity Fair 2018
This year's big caravan and motorhome fair at Elmia is now over. During the five days, the fair was visited by a total of 34,502 people and around 7,000 people stayed at the fully booked campsite. We felt that it was, as usual, a well-organised and fun fair, with many models to look at and plenty of activities both during the day and in the evening.
When it comes to motorhomes, one of this year's trends was interior design with a large rear seating area. We've written a post about 10 interesting mobile homes at the fair and a post on 6 exciting plasters at the fair. Our favourites this time were Swift's motorhomes, the small Dreamer vans and the LMC Explorer Premium with rear seating (Peter). Today we write about electric bikes and caravans!
Convert your bike to an electric bike
At Elcykelexperten, located in Habo, you can convert your own bike into an electric bike. Smoothly! They also showed small folding electric bikes, which we liked. We don't usually bring bikes with us in the motorhome, but sometimes we miss it. Since we have shared our large garage in the motorhome, we do not have room for regular bikes inside the motorhome, but we would have room for folding bikes!
Caravans at elmia Caravan motorhome 2018
We look more at motorhomes than caravans, so we won't be doing a comprehensive report on caravans at Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2018. But we saw some caravans that stood out in different ways, and we want to show them! Already in our first report from the fair, we showed the small RC Mini Campa, which is only 2.5 metres long.
Hero ranger for the adventurer
The Hero Ranger, from Hero Camper, is a very small caravan with substantial tyres, which was displayed outdoors during the fair. The caravan is 4.82 metres long and has a net weight of 800 kilos (the total weight is 850 - 1200 kilos). The interior is slightly different with a kitchen in the tailgate. The price for this caravan is about 116,000 SEK.
Sprite caravans - back in Sweden
Sprite is one of Europe's oldest caravan manufacturers, with production starting in 1947 in England. Since 2005, Sprite has been built and owned by Swift Group, and now they are back in Sweden. Initially, three different models will be launched and all trade will take place online. The three models are Basecamp, Sprite Cruzer 492 SR and Sprite Cruzer 520 SR.
Sprite Basecamp
The Basecamp is the smallest of the models, and perhaps the one that stands out the most. The design is stylish and slightly different, and the caravan has also won the "Red Dot Award" design prize. You enter the rear of the caravan, and inside you will find different cabinet solutions and a large stove with grill/oven. The price for this is SEK 229,900.
Sprite Cruizer 492 SR
The Sprite Cruizer 492 SR is equipped with two long beds, a bathroom at the rear and a spacious seating area at the front. The interior is taken from Swift's motorhome series and, as in Swift's motorhomes, they have chosen to include a lot of standard equipment instead of long option lists. The price for this is SEK 269,900.
Polar 840 with shower "in the middle"
Last but not least, we present the Polar 840 TRXBR, which offers luxurious accommodation on 20 square metres. The interior is slightly different, with a shower "in the centre" and a nursery at the back, behind the shower area. The price of the caravan is SEK 999 000.

Seems very smooth! 🙂

I found the "little round" caravan charming. And probably slightly easier to tow compared to the 20 square one!
15 September 2018 - 8:32
Helena says:
Haha, yes certainly easier to draw! 😉

Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
Yes, I like my electric bike

Got it! 🙂

Ama de casa says:
Down here, electric bikes are exploding! Especially the scooter model has increased enormously.
I had one of those folding mini-bikes when I was a kid. Unfortunately, it sometimes folded up when you rode it. It was painful. 🙂
That double-decker wagon really stood out! Didn't look that great if you think about the air resistance, then I guess you have to be very careful to keep track of the heights of the viaducts too 😉 But it was fun! And in a nice colour 😀.
Have a great Saturday!

Helena says:
I can understand why people like electric bikes! How scary with yours that folded while travelling ...! And yes, that double-decker caravan was special, we actually saw it on the motorway later when we were driving home 😉.

What a development on caravans a bit different when I camped with grandma and grandpa 35 years ago ... hugs.

Helena says:
I can imagine that a lot has happened since then!!! 😉

Ditte says:
I think that a regular folding bike is perfectly ok and practical to carry. But if you are going far, an electric variant may make it easier. But then you miss the free motion.
There is a lot to choose from on the caravan/motorhome front for those who are interested. Fun! And you have shown a lot of nice things.
15 September 2018 - 9:54
Helena says:
Exercise is really good, I agree! It depends a bit on what you need it for, in some situations we think that electricity can be good anyway 😉.

Red cabin with white trim on wheels.
That's how you get homesick (Dalarana)
Have you ever seen anything uglier along the road?
15 September 2018 - 11:19
Helena says:
Truly a red cottage on wheels! 🙂

Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
We believe that as long as you have the energy to cycle, you can do it on a regular bike. Of course, electric bikes can be an option for commuters or if you can't pedal a regular bike for some reason. We have acquired two 7-speed folding bikes for the motorhome, to get them into the garage. Quite ok to cycle on if it is not extremely hilly.
15 September 2018 - 11:24
Helena says:
Very good basic idea! If you have the opportunity, it is perfect exercise! In some cases, I think an electric bike can still be good, depending on the area of use perhaps.

Fun with the picture of Peter and Julle Romedal, bicycle expert. Bought a full grown electric bike from him. An old bus driver mate. The last few trips to Italy I was second driver for him.

I hope you enjoy it Annar!
Just want to clarify that we are the electric bike expert in Habo.
15 September 2018 - 17:28
Helena says:
Oh clumsy with the name, we have changed to Elcykelexperten now and clarified with Håbo! Thanks for the comment!

Now it was Habo, but call over a....?
It's right there in the text.

Sometimes I talk about having an electric bike,
or why not an old-style pack moped ðŸ™'
Big bulky caravans and tiny cute wagons...
This summer I have seen an unusually large number of small carriages,
type wagons from the 80s on our roads and most of them are foreign,
thinking that it might be because they travel long distances and basically only use the carriage to sleep...
You know those Southern Europeans on their way to the North Cape 😀.

Ruth in Virginia says:
Could the price of petrol be a cause?
15 September 2018 - 15:37
Helena says:
Ah, so many southern Europeans make a pilgrimage to the North Cape? I haven't really thought about that. In general, it seems that small motorhomes and small caravans are more common in the south, I think.

BP says:
My God, what caravans. I would not want these "monsters" behind a car. Just the thought of parking one gives me nightmares. However, I liked the smaller Hero Camper with a kitchen in the back. What a cool idea. It even works when it rains - the hatch becomes a roof. Ingenious and cheap!
Folding electric bikes are really in right now. You see them often, even on the metro.
15 September 2018 - 21:16
Helena says:
I also like the little caravan! Cool and agile! A very large motorhome is not my thing. I guess it works best when you stand still for a long time in the same place, and then just move it from time to time.

Electric bikes can be good if you have certain ailments! Funny about the red caravan, but I don't want it. Hugs
