It was Friday again, which of course means Happy Friday here at FREEDOMtravel. On Fridays we usually write a little more personal and summarise the best of the week. Sure, it's good to focus on the positive sometimes, right? Of course, we want to hear the best from your week too!

Houseboat life
After our two-month long campervan trip around Europe it is quite nice to live a little houseboat life again! This week Peter has, among other things, replaced two of our fencing that had been torn apart and deflated. Nice when things are whole and working again!
We have also had super bad water pressure for two days, which is usually due to the water pipe leaking somewhere between land and our boat. Now the marina has fixed the leak and we can finally shower without splashing water over our bodies. Happy Friday!
our travel plans
The best thing about this week is of course that we booked a trip to Sri Lanka for Christmas. We received lots of tips in the comments section, and we humbly thank you for that! We have started thinking about things we want to see and do, and have come to the conclusion that we should probably book accommodation in more than one place to have time to look around.
Several people have written that it is more appropriate to have a driver than to drive themselves. We thank you for this advice and are now obviously considering this option. At the same time, we (read Peter) like to drive ourselves, so we have not completely abandoned the idea. It is a feeling of freedom to get around with your own car!
Travel blog talk on Thursday evening
On Thursday evening, we hung out at an event at the Finnish Embassy, and the best part was actually meeting some other journalists and travel bloggers again. Afterwards, we and our friend Christian, who runs the Food and travel blog, and had a beer at the neighbourhood pub Paraden on Valhallavägen. Sooo incredibly fun to talk blog and travel. In addition, it slipped down some tasty snacks ...
We need to authorise comments
Several people have already noticed that comments are no longer approved directly here on the blog. This is because we have unfortunately had to change the setting, so that we are moderating all comments.
The reason for the change is that we have applied to become the responsible publisher of the site, which requires that no one else can publish anything on the site without our approval. We will of course try to approve comments as soon as possible, and hope this doesn't cause you any problems! What is "happy" about this is that we hope to be approved as responsible publishers soon! What has been the best part of your week?

Lena - good for the soul says:
It's good to get things sorted out, big and small.
During the week I was struck down by a terrible cold. What was happy about it was that it turned around yesterday. Now I keep my fingers crossed that we can have the dinner party on Saturday that we have planned!
Have a great Friday and hope you don't get blown away tonight!
Hug Lena

My reflection on the past week is: Where did it go?
Four fairly long working days and an evening activity and it's time for a long weekend.
We had planned to go down to Blekinge but now it will be a home weekend instead. Really nice too!

Helena says:
Sometimes it goes fast ... wishing you a nice weekend!

Reiselinda says:
Sounds like a nice week! Nice to get things fixed and that restaurant visit looks nice! We have prepared for the family reunion next week, but now we are in a good position and take the motorhome on a small excursion this weekend! It will be wonderful!
21 September 2018 - 7:52
Helena says:
But so wonderful to roll with the motorhome! 🙂 Have fun!

The best has been falling in love again. Love at first sight once more. The object is big and green, but we don't yet know if the feelings are reciprocated....

So haha ... don't think I'll even try to guess here ... 😉.

Fun with blog travel meeting and the small dishes looked very good! The best thing about our week is that it is now even closer to our departure 🙂

It's great that it's just getting closer and closer 🙂.

Many pleasing things there with you - fun! 🙂
I myself have enjoyed a small two-day trip to Xàtiva, which is about two hours drive from home. It is one of the most fun things to travel, short as well as long 🙂.

Helena says:
Travelling is fun, and no, it doesn't always have to be far away! 🙂

Mr Steve says:
So you too have some everyday business to take care of. It's good when problems are solved quickly.
I have no problem with you having to approve comments. I've been doing it for many years because during a period when I was rewriting parts of my work I received a number of unpleasant and offensive comments.
The best thing that has happened this week is that D found the first chanterelles of the year on a forest walk with Osborne and that we received cleaned lingonberries from a neighbour.
21 September 2018 - 12:41
Helena says:
No, we are not exempt from everyday tasks ... 😉 Too bad about the offensive comments! We actually get that too, from a weirdo. But they have not slipped through before either 😉 Lovely with chanterelles and lingonberries! 🙂

GeddFish says:
Glad you had a good time and have a happy friday 😀.
There are more people moderating comments, so nada problema, go ahead and you have nice things waiting all the time 😀.
The best thing about my week, well you know that, who read my blog and insta, haha. I really had fun along the deutsche weinstrasse, with many laughs and studies of both wine, food and people 😀.
Happy Friday!
21 September 2018 - 14:13
Helena says:
Good that moderation is not a problem! And yes, you seem to have had a great week 🙂 Have a nice weekend!

Not much fun going on in the US, unfortunately.
The guy Trump wants to put on the Supreme Court (lifetime)
allegedly misbehaved with a 17-year-old girl 36 years ago; and
Now it's slowing down. There is talk of a lie detector test ...
I'm glad we got away from "Florence".
Farewell party today for a pensioner who has been a super-volunteer.
Moving closer to grandchildren. Many US pensioners
do volunteer work of various kinds. Make me happy!
Where do you park your mobile home when you are on the boat?
21 September 2018 - 16:37
Helena says:
What soup ...! I'm glad you survived Florence! There are storm warnings here, but so far it's calm ...
The motorhome is in a car park in the marina. It has good company of two others. We are three houseboat owners who have a motorhome 🙂.

BP says:
It's good that Peter changed the fenders, considering that "lill-Knud" will be visiting us tonight.
The neighbourhood restaurant Paraden is completely in my taste, and the chanterelle tartlet I drool over of course. Unusual even with tuna tacos - good new thinking there:-)
Now that I know why you are moderating the blog, I understand. What a strange set of rules for becoming a responsible publisher. I was not aware of that. No problem here, though I feel a bit sorry for you who have to be "on duty" 24/7.
21 September 2018 - 20:57
Helena says:
I wonder what happened to that Knud guy? We were prepared for a storm, but it wasn't much ... I also didn't know the rules for becoming a responsible publisher. But after all the paperwork, we don't want to let this stop us 😉.

Lisa / livetfrandenljusasidan.se says:
Do NOT drive yourself in Sri Lanka. You get the same freedom with your own driver but get someone who knows the traffic. It's the worst I've ever experienced! Possibly ok to the south where there is a motorway, around the beaches in the southwest, but not for example colombo - kandy. But try some trains? Should be very beautiful and worth it in itself!

Matts Torebring says:
I have been registered as the responsible publisher of my blog for at least a year. I have not encountered the requirement you describe. On the other hand, I do remove undesirable posts. A good four have gone that way in twelve years.

Lena - On round feet says:
Just a curious question - why do you want/need/need to be the publisher of your blog?
05 October 2018 - 12:20
Helena says:
You don't have to be the publisher of your blog. We think it's better for us when we try to run the blog more professionally, partly because we can link the company to the blog in a different way.
