We're back home after our two-month motorhome trip in Europe, which means "everyday life" here on the blog, with travel news every Monday. Today we can tell you about the recent Caravan Salon and the upcoming Elmia fair. Today's travel news is also about electric flights, love in the air and embarrassment on the road.

Caravan Salon 2018 has ended
The world's largest trade fair for motorhomes and caravans, the Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf, has just ended for this year. Until Wednesday, the fair had been visited by 145,000 visitors, 12 per cent more than the same time last year. According to Motorhome & Caravan, some alternative fuels, such as hydrogen and electricity, were on display this year, albeit in early prototype stages.
Soon time for Elmia Husbil Caravan
On 5-9 September, the Nordic region's largest trade fair for mobile life will once again take place. Every year, Elmia Husvagn Husbil attracts over 36,000 visitors for five days of exhibitions, activities and socialising. This year's events include food and travel tips with Gone Camping, Motorhome School, dance evenings, Oktoberfest, shrimp feast and much more.
Electric aviation is the transport of the future
Aviation is the transport of the future, writes Sweden Radio. Around the world, major investments are being made to develop new aircraft technology, with a focus on electric and electric/hybrid aircraft. Sebastiano Fumero, head of the EU's research department for aeronautical development, estimates that large-scale electric and hybrid flights for the general public are no more than ten years away. "If the public cannot take an electric or electric/hybrid aircraft for intra-European routes by 2030, we have failed," he says.
1 in 50 find love on the plane
According to Travel + Leisure magazine, a new survey shows that 1 in 50 people have met love on a plane. The survey was conducted among 5000 travellers from 141 different countries. The survey also found that 16 per cent have made business contacts and 14 per cent have initiated lifelong friendships on the plane.
Swedes' embarrassments while travelling
Many people have gone on holiday abroad this summer and may have encountered other Swedes on holiday. This is usually nice, but you may also find that other Swedes behave embarrassingly. A new survey by online travel agency eBeach shows that half of the respondents find it embarrassing when Swedes get too drunk or too loud. The following is what Swedes find most embarrassing when other Swedes do:
- Getting too drunk (48 %)
- Are too loud (31 %)
- Allows their children to run and play freely (25 %)
- Leaving rubbish at the beach/pool (23 %)
- Complains loudly to hotel/restaurant staff (22 %)

Welcome to Sweden again and thank you for allowing me and the owners to join you in Europe.
Meeting your partner on the plane was a bit unexpected, but why not? After all, there are often a few hours together on the plane.
Maybe you are going to Elmia now that you are passing by?

BP says:
Welcome home to 22 degrees and a new job! I hope you managed the first day after two months of holiday. But you kept up the pace, so there wasn't much rest. The adjustment was perhaps not as tough as after a long holiday at the beach.
Thank you again for letting me join you in Europe:-)

Helena says:
Thank you BP! No, we have not rested so much, so maybe it makes the transition easier 😉 The second day at work went well! Admittedly new boss and new place that hired me, but it is in the same corridor as before and I am hired half-time to the old job, so it feels "just right" new, not too tiring 😉
