Electric aviation is the transport of the future

Aviation is the transport of the future, writes Sweden Radio. Around the world, major investments are being made to develop new aircraft technology, with a focus on electric and electric/hybrid aircraft. Sebastiano Fumero, head of the EU's research department for aeronautical development, estimates that large-scale electric and hybrid flights for the general public are no more than ten years away. "If the public cannot take an electric or electric/hybrid aircraft for intra-European routes by 2030, we have failed," he says.
