Here is a report from Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2018! We went down to the fair on Friday after work and have now had time to walk around the fair throughout Saturday. This year's fair offers small and large motorhomes, some news on the interior design front, small light caravans and a lot of other little things. Welcome to read our first report from Elmia!

Elmia Caravan Motorhome 2018
Initially, we didn't think we would be able to get down to the fair. We have just come back from a two-month-long trip. Motorhome travel in Europe. But when Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2018 approached, it started to itch a little ... This is still the campers' Christmas Eve! On Friday afternoon, after work, we started rolling south towards Jönköping and Elmia.
Motorhomes of all sizes
The fair offers motorhomes of all sizes and designs. Small vans continue to be popular and attract many curious visitors. Like the motorhomes, many of the vans are white, but some are also more colourful, such as the orange Road Car, which we also saw at the show. Caravan fair in Helsinki.
When it comes to 'mid-sized' motorhomes, one of this year's trends seems to be having a U-shaped sofa at the back, and being able to fold a bed over it from the roof. We've looked at lots of new models and a report will be coming soon. In the meantime, we can show some pictures of perhaps the biggest motorhome at the show.
The Concorde Centurion 1165 GSI is 11.6 metres long and is equipped with a slide-out for extra space after stopping. The price of the car shown at the fair, including equipment, was just over 8.2 million and when we passed it was already sold.
The Concorde Centurion is equipped with a garage so that you can take your car with you when travelling. However, you will probably have to choose a smaller car than the one on display at the fair if you want to be able to close the garage door ...
Small and light caravans
Several small and lightweight caravans are on display at the show. The smallest is perhaps the RC Mini Campa from Campa Sweden, with a length of 2.5 metres and a total weight of 750 kg. This caravan is actually only equipped with beds and the price is SEK 32,800.
Another interesting caravan brand is Sprite, from the Swift Group. Sprite is one of Europe's oldest caravan brands and is now making a comeback in Sweden. The caravans are only sold online, and the idea is that you can buy a good caravan at a slightly lower price. "Put a caravan in your shopping basket", quite simply. We will return with more information and pictures from the inside!
Little things at the fair
A real camping fair not only offers motorhomes and caravans, but also accessories and other small items. For example, we saw melamine plates and saucers in more fun designs than we're used to, from the online shop From Italy.
We also fell in love with a really cosy hammock (or whatever it's called?), which you can either hang in a stand or in a tree. I could have stayed here for an hour or two! Soooo comfortable after all the walking at the fair! The hammock costs SEK 3000 and, according to the seller, can be purchased at Naturkompaniet in Gävle.
Campers' Christmas Eve
Coming to the Elmia fair is not only about checking out motorhomes and caravans, but just as much about meeting and socialising! In the top picture you see us together with motorhome bloggers Göran and Anette, who run the blog Across the board and will soon embark on a wonderful wintering trip in Europe.
We also met the bloggers behind Husisblog, Hobby on the road and Our Vantastic Travelsand lots of exhibitors, motorhome journalists and readers. Great fun!
We'll be back soon with a report on interesting motorhomes, and maybe even a caravan, at Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2018. Have you also been to the fair? Did you see something interesting or something that caught your eye? Please tell us!
Mr Steve says:
These are indeed extremes you are showing. A Concorde Centurion or a 250 mini camper. A choice to be made if you have 8.2 kilometres to spare.
The "hammock" I realise you were getting stuck in. That sunbed should be part of your basic equipment.
09 September 2018 - 7:16
Helena says:
There is something for everyone if you say so 😉 The sunbed would suit us well! 🙂
09 September 2018 - 15:15
Across the board says:
I still have a few stars in my eyes when I think of the Frankia 890 with long bed and traditional sofa group. Fantastic space and lovely kitchen. Didn't like any of the models with the sofa in the back.
Nice to chat away for a while!
09 September 2018 - 7:42
Helena says:
We also found some motorhomes we liked, show as soon as we had time to go through the pictures 😉 Great to see you! 🙂

Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
Now 10 days are over! Hope the card was still on your car I was past but no one at home. But still have a good time.
09 September 2018 - 7:54
Helena says:
The card was left!!! Too bad we did not meet Nils-Åke, it will be another time! Nicely arranged fair as usual!

Role o Carina says:
Great with Elmia, but what if we didn't get there this year either???
Concorde would be something if you were a millionaire?
But we still like the Frankia 890 GD 2019????
Looking forward to more reports from you from there....????
09 September 2018 - 8:27
Helena says:
More reports will come as soon as we have time to go through pictures! 🙂

Deciree says:
Wow, you look like you had a nice tour där☺️ A little rest in the swing was probably nice ?
09 September 2018 - 8:28
Helena says:
Always fun to hope around and look! And you always find some people to buzz with 🙂 .
09 September 2018 - 15:20
Ama de casa says:
What a monster of a motorhome! But what a pity that it was already sold, otherwise you would have hit it, right? 😉
I liked the red and orange ones best I think. Seems to "choose" a motorhome in much the same way as I choose a car - the colour is most important 😉 😀.
Have a nice Sunday!
09 September 2018 - 9:34
Helena says:
Haha, yes, otherwise we would of course have struck ... 😉 I also like the colourful plates, nice!
09 September 2018 - 15:20
JoY says:
Nice to see a little from the fair as we ourselves are still in Lofoten. But what a colossus of a motorhome or what do you call the big Concorde. Looks more like a permanent accommodation.
The hammock ball was cheeky to have in the garden?
Hugs
09 September 2018 - 9:45
Helena says:
Great to be in Lofoten!!! The Concord is certainly nice inside, but for us it is too big to drive 😉.
09 September 2018 - 15:22
Husis blog says:
Agree with you, the social is so nice and thank you for the nice chat.
Something that the owners and I also like is the order of the entire area where I and many others stand. Good space between the motorhomes, water is available, emptying is available etc. etc, professionally organised.
09 September 2018 - 11:23
Helena says:
Thank you, very nice to see you! I agree that everything is very well organised at Elmia!
09 September 2018 - 15:23
Aila & Niklas says:
Thanks for the chat... Hope you have time to watch the film with the sofa in the back. Among them is our next hb.
Take care...

Ylva ivarsdotter Samuelsson says:
Hello again, saw you swish past me just now. Just want to apologise for my forwardness but thought it was fun to see you just at the fair, it was me who threw myself forward quickly and then just, Hi Helena. I don't usually do that but the husband was in a hurry. I also say Hi to Peter now in retrospect. And many thanks for this nice blog you have ???
Regards Ylva
09 September 2018 - 16:40
Helena says:
Hi Ylva! Haha, fun that we "saw" on the road! 😉 And just fun that you wanted to come up and say hello! We are just happy 🙂 And thank you for the nice words about our blog! Peter says hello back. Maybe we have time to talk more another time!
09 September 2018 - 16:59
Ylva ivarsdotter Samuelsson says:
It would be fun, you never know when you will show up, have a good time.
09 September 2018 - 17:23
Matts Torebring says:
We enjoyed only having an interest in visiting a single stand, Forsberg's. There was everything for big and small. We have set the bar so high already that there is nothing else that could attract us. We relaxed with friends outside the motorhome, instead of chasing around uninteresting exhibits. That's Elmia Husbil for us.
09 September 2018 - 18:25
Helena says:
Great that you have found what you like! Too bad we didn't see each other!
09 September 2018 - 23:25
Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
We did Elmia during a day trip last Friday. Of course, there are an incredible number of nice motorhomes, such as one of them with a seating area in the back.
We also took a look inside the largest Morelo model. Imagine our surprise when we, who are barely 175 cm tall, cannot stand upright in the sleeping area, in a 5.5 million euro motorhome.
It's also nice to meet a lot of lovely people and have a little chat.
Next year we will try to organise a few days of overnight stays at the fair.
We look forward to your continued posts from Elmia!
09 September 2018 - 19:16
Helena says:
Well, then I understand why we didn't meet! We only arrived on Friday evening. But you may come some year and stay overnight, it is quite lively in the evenings! 🙂 Not being able to stand up is a bit sad, I think we experienced it in one of the cars too ...
09 September 2018 - 23:27
Solan says:
I'm glad you're looking at ALL types of motorhomes... Curiosity is a great asset as a blogger/influencer ?
09 September 2018 - 19:20
Helena says:
It's fun to look around, and not least at what stands out a bit 😉 .
10 September 2018 - 15:33
BP says:
There was a lot of new stuff here! I especially like the new colourful motorhomes, finally! Oh the little mini camper is really cute, if you only want two beds, nothing more. It is also incredibly affordable. Here you get exactly what you pay for.
Did you take the sunbed with you or;-)
09 September 2018 - 21:07
Helena says:
I also like the colourful motorhomes! 🙂 Would have liked to take the deckchair with me, but it was probably not for sale unfortunately ... 😉.
10 September 2018 - 15:34
Lena - good for the soul says:
I can almost buy a motorhome just to buy such nice plates and glasses 🙂 Hehe, no, but we actually talked earlier today that we can imagine a motorhome at some point in the future.
Nice to see a little glimpse of the fair.
Hug Lena

Ruth in Virginia says:
Those big houses on wheels - What a terrible thing to end up in
behind one of those!
Let's hope they are subject to lots of road tax,
that they have to wear out on the roads.
10 September 2018 - 6:12
Helena says:
The biggest ones are like buses, but very unusual compared to buses and lorries 😉 .
