So Egypt is coming up again. I think that's nice because it's a fantastic country in many ways. However, all the unrest has made things difficult.

There are many interesting things to see in Egypt!

Egypt, with all its attractions, is really something that has always attracted me. However, I want a certain amount of security that I may not feel right now. It's nothing for us to travel there and have to feel confined to some all-inclusive hotel with walls and gates.
As usual, we are lucky to be different.
We definitely don't spend our holiday money on shopping, food and drink are also further down the list, while experiences are expensive.
Cruises can be taken to any number of destinations. They go away completely, at least as long as we can travel in other ways.

We do not spend money on shopping while travelling, at least rarely. Although it sometimes happens that we buy clothes abroad instead of at home 🙂.

So many people want to do yoga? Doesn't really sound like it's true. I don't know anyone who does yoga (that I can think of) but many people are travelling.
We have actively avoided Egypt. Would love to see the pyramids, but it feels like there has always been unrest there and that they "target" tourists. In addition, the risk of getting stomach flu seems to be very imminent.
We probably won't contribute to that 100% increase 🙂 .

I also wondered a bit about yoga? Yoga is indeed popular, but it's not like "everyone" does yoga on holiday 😉.

I think it's very interesting with just the yoga, doesn't it feel a bit like you have just ticked that it would be nice to have to do on holiday 🙂 Egypt is fun that it comes back, I think!

Helena says:
That might be the case! How many people actually do yoga while travelling is another matter 😉.

1 & 2 - absolutely major expense items when travelling. Whether it's by motorhome or by plane. But. The food is much cheaper when we travel with FrankieBoy because we cook more food ourselves then, fewer restaurant visits. Egypt has never appealed to me.

Helena says:
We also spend money on both food and experiences, although like you we keep the food account down by often cooking ourselves.

I also have doubts about yoga...
I have not heard anything good about Egypt from friends who have travelled there. Especially Hurghada has a very bad reputation. All-inclusive hotels are a big no-no for me, and the current political situation sounds even less appealing. How was Apollo thinking there?
24 September 2018 - 19:22
Helena says:
Agree that Hurghada does not only have a good reputation. I think the destination can work depending on the price actually.
