This Monday we can report, among other things, that more companies are choosing camping cabins over hotels, that Viking Line has developed its own cruise champagne and that Apollo is starting to travel to Doha in Qatar. Also, apparently you have to prepare for the fact that travelling will become more expensive. What are your comments on this week's travel news?

More companies choose camping
It has become more and more common for entrepreneurs to rent cabins at campsites instead of hotel rooms. In the past year, the number of companies choosing cottage accommodation has increased by 45 per cent at the First Camp camping chain. First Camp is now signing a million-dollar agreement with the booking company Avisita. "Far from all companies want to stay in classic hotels," says the company's CEO.
Nordic Camping takes over Strömstad camping
Nordic Camping & Resort has signed an agreement to acquire Strömstad Camping in northern Bohuslän, taking over ownership on 1 November. Strömstad Camping will be the 26th facility in the Nordic Camping family. Strömstad Camping consists of 150 camping pitches and 57 cabins, and has many Norwegian guests, among others.
Viking Line gets its own champagne
For the first time ever, the French champagne house Piper-Heidsieck and Viking Line have developed a champagne that can only be purchased on the company's seven ships. The Essentiel by Essi for Viking Line champagne is produced in close collaboration between the company's champagne expert Essi Avellan and Piper-Heidsieck's winemaking team. The limited edition champagne will be available for sale on board from October 2018.
sas opens 17 new routes
SAS continues to expand its network of routes to and from Scandinavia, opening 17 new direct routes to six brand new destinations in time for the 2019 summer programme. Marseille in FranceFlorence in Italy, Catania in Sicily and Cornwall in England are some of the new destinations that will be easily accessible via Stockholm or Copenhagen.
Apollo starts flying to Doha
This winter Apollo starts travelling to Qatar's capital city Doha, where they will open seven new hotels with high standards and proximity to both the beach and the city. Apollo will be travelling from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Copenhagen, and the routes are operated by the airline Qatar. Located on the northeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula along the Persian Gulf, Doha offers a mix of sun and sea, luxury hotels, culture, skyscrapers and desert landscapes.
More expensive travelling in 2019
Travel will become more expensive in 2019, according to a new industry forecast from business travel company BCD Travels. Hotel prices will increase by around 1-3 per cent worldwide, and airfares will increase by 1-2 per cent. Due to increased hotel prices, alternative accommodation solutions, such as Airbnb, are expected to increase in 2019.

Ama de casa says:
I wonder if they start travelling to Qatar because the next World Cup will be held there? Although it is not until 2022 ... It will then be played in November / December because it is far too hot in the summer and the whole football world will have to adapt.
For BP it will probably be good - then she won't have to "sacrifice" nice summer days/evenings and instead live in front of the TV during the much more boring November 😉.
Ooops! Didn't have much to do with it, but my mind wandered 😀.
Have a great start to the week!

Aha, so the World Cup is going there? Then I got to know about it too 😉 .

BP says:
Hahaha! Laughed well at Ama's comment. She is sooooo right :-) Oh I actually thought exactly the same thing, that it is attractive with trips to Doha because of the World Cup. On the other hand, Apollo is a charter company, so ...
Hotel prices are already very expensive, I think, so another increase stings a bit. Flight prices, on the other hand, are more "favourable" depending on which company you choose, of course.

Maybe the World Cup will help put Doha on the map for tourists? 🙂

I would love to take the campervan and stay at a campsite when travelling for work, but as most people go to Germany I don't think it would be very time efficient!

I can understand that companies sometimes choose campsites, but I think it's important that the campsites have a good location!

Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
I opt out of campsites like Nordic Camping & Resort because they are too big and their prices are way too high. I wish more people would boycott these campsites.

Helena says:
I don't have a good idea of the prices of these campsites compared to others, but if they are so much more expensive than others, Jaguar can understand why you choose other options.

Across the board says:
Of course it will be more expensive for us to travel because we have such an incredibly weak exchange rate. ?
