How do you find a tuxedo and long dress for the party... at the last minute? That's what we spent this week trying to figure out! We're wearing a tuxedo and a long dress to an event tonight. What will we do? Well, we'll tell you more about that!

Finding a coat
Finding a coat was probably the easiest task. We first searched for a shop in Östermalm that would rent out both coat and long dress, but when we arrived, that shop had just closed. And we really mean just - they were just sweeping up the last bits of dust from the floor.
Nearby we found Östermalm's coat and tuxedo shop, where Peter could try on a coat with all its different parts. But what about the dress?
Finding a long dress
How do you find a long dress in town just before closing time on a Saturday? We did some googling, but we couldn't find any shops that rented long dresses. Maybe buy? In a panic, we ran around to a few shops in town that sell party dresses, but nothing felt right. What should we do now?
We went home and (panicked) started looking in online shops. And we have to say that shopping for dresses online is smart and easy. There is a lot to choose from and it is easy to find something in the price range between 700 and 3000 SEK. The only problem was that we were very late ...
On Sunday evening I ordered a dress from Zalando and added an extra £99 for express delivery. This meant that the dress arrived by courier to the marina on Tuesday. It was little nervous to see if it fit ... But yes, it fit! Happy friday!
Why should we wear tails and long dresses?
Well, why should we wear tails and long dresses? You might wonder! But we'll keep you in suspense. We don't have time to write until Saturday, but we will return with a report on Sunday!
What about Peter's knee?
After the visit to the local health centre Peter's knee slowly (very slowly) got a little better. Until one day when he went for a brisk walk. Then it got worse again. Now it's not good at all, he's limping, and has no medicine left.
The day before yesterday he went to the local hospital, which did not consider the problem to be urgent and told him to call the medical centre. He called the medical centre, who thought he might as well call the orthopaedic surgeon. He called the orthopaedic surgeon, who was supposed to call back the same day, but still hasn't called.
So that's where we are now. Not so happy perhaps. But we have to forget our sorrows for a while and walk around in tails and long dresses! What has been the best part of your week?

Bad luck with Peter's knee.
Good thing you found clothes so you don't have to do an "Emperor's New Clothes" 😉.
I can't wait to read about the fun things you'll be doing.
The best thing this week: that I was "imaginative" 😀.
Have a nice Friday and a lovely weekend

Zalando is actually really good, I've bought some things there and been very happy.
Can't wait to see the whole dress, looks promising.
Very sad with the knee! That's what is so dangerous when it starts to get better, you think you can speed up again. Suspect that with Peter-fart (read in Swedish) it is damn fast! 😀
Have a great event!

Really sad with the knee, it is limiting and of course tiring to have pain! And of course there will be pictures! 🙂

It's no fun being bounced around in the health service... I hope he gets help soon! All the more fun with a coat and a long dress! How exciting! In my life I have probably only been so festive twice. Once in Stockholm actually. Looking forward to reports and pictures! Good luck! And happy friday!

How boring with Peter's knee! And being sent around to different places like that must be extremely annoying... Hope it works out for the best as soon as possible!
This week has been great with a lot of nice meetings and then a little mini trip (or maybe you should call it micro trip?) on it. Can't complain at all 🙂
Well, well, well. I really don't like cliffhangers, but I guess I'll have to wait until Sunday then. Have fun - whatever that may be! 😀

Yes, it's really boring to be bounced around ... Especially when it suddenly feels like you're back to square one. Sigh! The "cliffhanger" is of course followed up on Sunday! 🙂

I recognise that thinking you're ok when things start to feel better (and I never learn).
Now we have to hope for help and he may have to take it easy until the worst is over.
At least it's fun to have a "nice party".
The best thing about this week is probably the wonderful autumn weather, even if I only got to look out at it. Today is a free Friday so now it will be a long walk in the sun.
Tonight we're celebrating something very special, namely 'Day of the Grouch', which was actually yesterday.

Good luck finding a dress that could be delivered quickly. I think it is difficult to order clothes online in terms of fit, but if you are short of time, you can take a chance. Fun with a big party!
Sad about Peter's knee, but there are more local surgeries available and maybe someone else is better. Our VC has an emergency clinic every morning, I know that many have it that way. You can then come there and just get emergency help. A good cortisone injection in the joint should be able to relieve the pain.
In any case, I wish you a fun party.
Best of the week? Most things. Travel jobs, blog events of various kinds, sun....

Bye bye with Peter's knee, hope you have a great time.
'coat and dress party',,.
The past week: three days off and sewed a lot of fun stuff, baked delicious orange muffins and fixed the garden. These are three of my hobbies that give me energy and peace. Now it will be a working weekend and my brother's 60th birthday dinner, a little bad timing but it will work out.
Hugs and happy holidays

Rubbish with bad knees and bodies that are not what you want! 🙁 (Apparently have a third shoulder surgery waiting, knee and hip are already adjusted ...)
Have a great party 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

I'm glad the long dress worked out. Congratulations!
Very "uncool" with Peter's knee, and being sent around to different doctors is definitely not fun. In any case, hope that Peter can forget his bad knee when you are at a party. It will be fun to read what you were doing:-)
