In this week's travel news, we can reveal which company has taken the place of the most digital travel company in Sweden, as well as the reduction of plastic in the oceans, the display of campers in Advent, rabbit country and winter adventures. As usual, the news comes from press releases from various companies in the travel industry.

How Ving will reduce plastic in the oceans
Thomas Cook Group, of which Ving is a part, wants to reduce plastic litter in the oceans. Around eight million plastic items end up in the oceans every day, destroying both the marine environment and beaches around the world. The company aims to eliminate 70 million single-use plastic items by the end of 2019.
Winter's most Instagram-friendly beaches
TUI, by analysing its own data from previous years, has created a list of the beaches that have historically generated the most likes on its Instagram. The most Instagram-friendly beaches in winter are found in Mexico, a destination that holds the top three spots, followed by Aruba and Thailand:
- Isla Contoy, Mexico
- Isla Mujeres, Mexico
- Isla de Holbox, Mexico
- Palm Beach, Aruba
- Khao Lak Beach, Thailand

Liseberg is investing heavily in rabbit land
For 2020, Liseberg is investing no less than 200 million in the Kaninlandet children's area, which opened in 2013. The area currently has 13 attractions, games, a playground and a theatre stage. The new investment will include the construction of a rabbit-themed restaurant, a new stage and a new attraction, which is still a secret.
fabulous winter adventures at the Icehotel
On 14 December, ICEHOTEL inaugurates the 29th edition of this year's suites and on 22 December this year's edition of the ceremonial hall. Christmas spirit is offered already in November with snowy adventures in the forests, a local Christmas market and a Christmas table with a northern twist. The ice hotel is on my bucket list 🙂 .
On Isla Mujeres we were the first time in 1990, but then I had no instagram account. No, not then either 😀.
Have a great start to the week!

Today, we feel really touched by most of the news.
1. We are currently on a train belonging to the most digital travel company, heading to Stockholm.
2. Tomorrow we fly with Thomas Cook's aeroplane (let's see if we can avoid some disposable plastic).
3. In a few days we will hopefully be on one of the most Insta9ram friendly beaches in Mexico (at least Isla de Holbox we have booked a hotel for one night).

Icehotel is really a place I want to go back to. Was there on a short visit (had a good drink in ice glasses, kind of) and looked around quickly. Would like to stay overnight! Such a fascinating place.

BP says:
Purchasing and or reducing plastic items is "in" right now. Finally, I would say.
If it wasn't so cold in Jukkasjärvi, I would consider staying there for a maximum of one night, but there is an Icebar at Hotel C in Stockholm close to the Central Station if you get the urge;-).

Helena says:
Certainly it seems to be "in" to keep track of the plastic, and it is a good trend I must say! I visited the ice cream parlour once many years ago! 🙂
