Black Friday, but here the sun is shining! This week has brought German surprises and Italian delicacies for us. We have a collaboration in the works with the German tourist office, which could be really, really exciting. So maybe it's the best of the week? Or maybe the best thing this week is that we have received so many dialectal words. Absolutely fantastic fun to read!
Lots of dialectal words
A little while ago we asked for dialectal words and expressions here on the blog. What a response! At the time of writing, there are no less than 87 comments (including our own responses) on the blog and 38 comments on Facebook. It's crazy fun to read. I mean, how many different, funny and difficult (!) words are there in Swedish?
The plan is to compile all these dialectal words for Sunday's post. I don't really know how to do it, but somehow we will get it done! It will be very, very fun ... but it is a challenge to say the least! Feel free to check in and add even more dialectal words, and don't miss checking in here on Sunday!
Co-operation with the German Tourist Board
This week Peter had a meeting with the German tourist office. "We have a really exciting collaboration going on! We can't tell you what it is yet, but we can reveal that it is something completely new in terms of co-operation. We can also reveal that what we have going on not only involves us, but there's also a chance for some of you readers (with motorhomes) to get involved. Stay tuned - we'll tell you more soon!
Brunch with Italian buffet
You may remember that we recently visited that lovely Italian place... Eataly on Biblioteksgatan in Stockholm? This week Peter has been there again for an event, invited by the Italian Tourist Board. So today we can tempt you (and ourselves!) with some Italian delights on camera! This must be the best thing about Italian food: cheeses, cold cuts, mozzarella, olives... yum!
Now it's your turn. What has been the best part of your week?

Emma, sun like sun? says:
Here it was really Friday picking! We love picnic food, perfect because everyone can eat what they want and you can try a little bit of everything. You always find a favourite. In addition, it is a bit cosy with picking food because it is often something that can stand out for a while without going bad, you can sit for a long time and chat.
I don't know if this week has been anything special, crappy weather and everyday life. But it can be good too!

Helena says:
Completely agree with you! Picnic food is nice, good and suits everyone 🙂 And a little everyday life in between does not have to be wrong at all. Nice weekend!

Ama de casa says:
We often eat picnic food in the evenings, as dinner. It's a bit lighter (we limit what we bring out!) and it's cosy to sit and pick through the goodies 🙂.
It will be exciting to see what your new collaboration will entail 🙂.
Have a happy Friday!

The best day of the week was yesterday, Thursday, when we celebrated Thanksgiving Day;
always falls on the penultimate Thursday of November. It is probably the
biggest weekend in the US, and my favourite, because there are no "musts".
like cards and gifts and nothing religious. But if you are travelling
home, it can get messy. More traffic of all kinds than any other time
during the year.
My two daughters, a husband and a granddaughter celebrated the day with me.
with the traditional turkey and pumpkin pie. Didn't have to make
other than taking out the china that belonged to my husband's grandmother.
and silver, which we inherited from his Uncle Frank.
In the evening, my neighbour came and knocked on the door: "Ruth, you HAVE to come out and see the full moon." So we ended Thanksgiving
Day with a long look at "Old Man in the Moon". And I am very, very
grateful for what I have.

Helena says:
Thanksgiving seems to be a nice and pleasant holiday!!! It also sounds like it was a nice celebration with the daughters, and so full moon on it 🙂 Nice!

New collaborations with Germany sound exciting, and good food is never wrong.
We are just packing each backpack to take the local bus to Isla Holbox for a day and we hope it will be a really Happy Friday!

Helena says:
Oh how lovely! Wishing you a nice weekend!

Mr Steve says:
Packed lunches are always nice and you can always find vegetarian options.
Didn't read your previous post about Eataly, but it seems like a cool place. And, what a clever name too.
I look forward to following your co-operation with the German tourist office. Germany certainly has much more to offer than what I know about this neighbouring country. Not just bratwurst and beer and not just a burdensome history.
Your post on dialects seems to have been well received. Ku!
23 November 2018 - 15:02
Helena says:
Agree that picking food is almost never wrong, and it is quite easy to find vegetarian variants of such food 🙂 And yes, Germany has a lot to offer, we started to experience some this summer.

Ditte says:
What fun with a new collaboration! And Italian picnic food or authentic Italian food in general is so good. Best of the week? New job offers both at home and in Spain and that Spanish companies in the tourism industry bought some pictures of me.
Looking forward to the post on different dialect words. Fun!
23 November 2018 - 16:19
Helena says:
But what fun with job offers and selling pictures! Congratulations!

Best of the week: Hm, yes it has been nice to have more energy and feel alert! Nice to have cleaned up before the weekend. A good week yes. Have a nice Friday for you! 😉

Also enjoying the incredibly good and fine Italian picking food. Love salami, cheese and ham and more:-)
It will be fun to read what the cooperation with the German tourist office consists of, but I guess all your readers with motorhomes will be happy.
It will also be exciting to read your dialectal compilation. Guess you didn't think there would be sooooo many suggestions. Good luck with that post!
