Belgian treats and dinner from Liguria

What a week! We spent the whole weekend feasting on Belgian goodies, and when we got home we were treated to dinner from Liguria in Italy. Then the week has continued in the same vein with mulled wine and other festivities ...

Belgian treats

During our four days in the Belgian capital, we had the opportunity to try lots of goodies. You may already know that we tried Belgian waffles, and we also had time to visit two Belgian breweries, participate in a chocolate workshop and eat a whole bunch of tasty meals... There are a lot of goodies in Belgium, we can say!

For once, we didn't have time to write about everything in the next few days during and after the trip. We still have several posts to write about Brussels. More to come soon!

Dinner from Liguria

The first thing that happened when we got home from Brussels was that the Italian region Liguria hosted a dinner. Every year, Liguria delivers flowers to the Nobel festivities, and in connection with this, they also offered dinner. They set a beautiful table at the Munich Brewery (with beautiful flowers of course!) and served a five-course dinner.

Dinner Ligurien

The dinner started with antipasto and then two different types of pasta. It is important to eat all the dishes in the right order, when eating Italian food. The main course was a specialised version of the dish "Cappon Magro". This is a Genoese salad with fish, vegetables, bread and sauce. A different dish to say the least, but interesting!

On stage, a chef demonstrated how to prepare his pesto (in a mortar!) to make it really good, including fresh basil, pine nuts, garlic and two types of grated Parmesan cheese.

Best of the week?

The week has continued in the same spirit, and I can hardly keep track of everything that has happened or is happening. On Wednesday evening there was a mulled wine gathering with association of journalists we are members of, and yesterday there was a Croatian lunch and mingle party in the evening (which we don't have time to write about right now). Best thing this week? First and foremost Brussels! We also have to admit that it's going to be great! to sleep in at the weekend ...!

What has been the best part of your week (big or small)?
