What a week! We spent the whole weekend feasting on Belgian goodies, and when we got home we were treated to dinner from Liguria in Italy. Then the week has continued in the same vein with mulled wine and other festivities ...
Belgian treats
During our four days in the Belgian capital, we had the opportunity to try lots of goodies. You may already know that we tried Belgian waffles, and we also had time to visit two Belgian breweries, participate in a chocolate workshop and eat a whole bunch of tasty meals... There are a lot of goodies in Belgium, we can say!
For once, we didn't have time to write about everything in the next few days during and after the trip. We still have several posts to write about Brussels. More to come soon!
Dinner from Liguria
The first thing that happened when we got home from Brussels was that the Italian region Liguria hosted a dinner. Every year, Liguria delivers flowers to the Nobel festivities, and in connection with this, they also offered dinner. They set a beautiful table at the Munich Brewery (with beautiful flowers of course!) and served a five-course dinner.
The dinner started with antipasto and then two different types of pasta. It is important to eat all the dishes in the right order, when eating Italian food. The main course was a specialised version of the dish "Cappon Magro". This is a Genoese salad with fish, vegetables, bread and sauce. A different dish to say the least, but interesting!
On stage, a chef demonstrated how to prepare his pesto (in a mortar!) to make it really good, including fresh basil, pine nuts, garlic and two types of grated Parmesan cheese.
Best of the week?
The week has continued in the same spirit, and I can hardly keep track of everything that has happened or is happening. On Wednesday evening there was a mulled wine gathering with association of journalists we are members of, and yesterday there was a Croatian lunch and mingle party in the evening (which we don't have time to write about right now). Best thing this week? First and foremost Brussels! We also have to admit that it's going to be great! to sleep in at the weekend ...!
What has been the best part of your week (big or small)?

I giggled a little, thinking it was the Lucia train on stage there. But then I realised that it was the chefs. Had just before read a blog about Lucia celebrations so the brain was well tuned to it.
I was also thinking about the line "A very different dish, but interesting!". Should we take this to mean that it wasn't the best for your taste buds? You can't actually like everything ...

Haha, yes I can understand that the picture led the thoughts to Lucia 😉 And yes, maybe a little like that. The lobster, and also the fish in the dish tasted very good. But otherwise we thought the flavour combinations were a bit funny, at least for our taste 😉.

Full speed all week then - nice 🙂
The best thing this week was that I finally got to go on a small (very small) trip and I feel like I'm back on track 🙂 .

What a week you have had!
Brussels is a city that didn't exactly appeal to me, but it seems like it's time to reconsider that decision.
There has been a lot of work here, but yesterday we managed to have both a lussefika at work and a very tasty Christmas dinner in the evening.
Today it's all messy, because tomorrow the children and grandchildren are coming for an early Christmas celebration.

Fun with a lot happening and if it is also "good and nice" it is even better. Have had a great week with Arvika trip and also got some new fun job assignments. Have also sold two pictures. Completely unexpected but fun.
Wishing you a great weekend.

Lovely to have the right "connections" and to be able to enjoy that little (read: big) extra. In addition, you do not have to eat Christmas table with such ordinary dishes as salmon and Christmas ham; -) Absolutely right thought there: -)

You are really doing what you like, travelling and eating well, cosy. Also looks much better than my McDonald's order, ugh.
Happy 3rd Advent to both of you.
