Then it was Friday again, and for us this Friday means a very soon departure to Sri Lanka. This week there has been mingling with good food, Peter has received an early "Christmas present" and we have, appropriately enough, listened to a presentation about Sri Lanka.

Mingle at the Palett restaurant

If you follow our blog, you may remember that Peter had an awesome dinner at restaurant Palett recently. Some readers thought it was a bit unfair that I (Helena) do not have time to keep up with all the delicious events, but luckily we were both invited to mingle at the same restaurant shortly afterwards. Some of the restaurant's dishes were served as a tasting in small bowls and I have to agree, absolutely fantastic!

New technologies

We flagged up a while ago that Peter had bought a new tech gadget (he likes those!) and now it has arrived. It was a bit like an early Christmas Eve with... Christmas present for Peter when he went into town to pick up his DJI Pocket. This is a miniature photo and film camera that also has a built-in gimbal, a stabiliser that keeps the camera straight even if you move.

The camera can be used just as it is, or connected to the mobile phone camera if you want a bigger screen. Peter ordered it from the DJI website (for about 3700 SEK) and picked it up in a shop in Stockholm. He would have liked to do a review of it, but does not have time before departure. We will try it properly during our trip and come back.

Preparing to travel

Otherwise, we are making travel preparations for our trip to Sri Lanka. We have made sure to get an international driver's licence, bought a new toiletry bag and some small things like that. This week we were also (appropriately enough!) on mulled wine and a lecture on Sri Lanka at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Stockholm, which was organised by the travel company Thabela Travel. There we also got several good tips for the trip!

Best this week? If you ask Peter, it might be his new tech gadget and if you ask me, it's our upcoming trip. What has been the best part of your week?
