Join us in "camping" on the Baltic Sea this autumn! Does that sound crazy? Yes a little maybe, but quite possible! In November it is time for a cruise with Caravan & Camping on Viking Cinderella. We will be there, will you?
Table of contents
Camping at sea
Has it ever happened before that an entire cruise ship was filled with motorhomes and campers? A bit doubtful, right? In any case, now is the time! The magazine Allt om Husvagn & Camping has booked the entire Viking Cinderella, on a cruise between Stockholm and Sweden. Mariehamn, 10-11 November 2019. We say it again: Caravan & Camping has booked whole Cinderella just for people who like camping and caravanning... how fun can it be?
Lots of activities
There will be lots of motorhome and camping-related activities on board. Just the idea that the car deck will have an exhibition of motorhomes and caravans is fun! Some of what's happening:
- Exhibition of motorhomes and caravans on car tyres
- Market with new camping products
- Lectures on caravanning and camping
- Caravan Club is on board
Then we can promise that there will be plenty of entertainment! The magazine hasn't finalised all the big names yet, but we've heard a lot of famous names mentioned... so we know this will be a real party! Although the details aren't nailed down yet, we know it will be:
- Good food and drink
- Anthon Lövbom - Sweden's youngest magician
- Dance to one of Sweden's most popular artists/groups
- More, more, more ... the list goes on!
FREEDOMtravel on board
We will of course be on board! We will lecture twice, and we are already thinking of different fun things we can do in connection with that ... And of course we will hang out on the boat all day!
Read more about the trip!
The trip is a day cruise between Stockholm and Mariehamn, departing on 10 November 2019. Right now there is a campaign with a cheaper price if you book by 15 March. You can read more and book both on Caravan & Camping and on VikingLine, where you can read more about cabins and meals. Are you coming along? Hope to see you!
Ruth in Virginia says:
No, I have stayed up too late.
Sounds amazing. Do you have to bring your own caravan
to join the party?
26 January 2019 - 7:30
Helena says:
No, the caravan or motorhome can be left at home 🙂 This is a party and meeting place for people who like camping or motorhome life 🙂.
26 January 2019 - 7:46
Solan says:
Fun and quirky but creative with an exhibition on the car deck. But we take the "bridge" to winter storage before the camping boat leaves!!!!
Will there be wheeled tables in November as well?
26 January 2019 - 8:53
Helena says:
Isn't that a fun idea? "Wheeled table" ... haha, we will see what is served 😉 You will surely be fine in the south instead!

Lena - good for the soul says:
Seems like a lot of fun for the enthusiasts... and all the wannebees 🙂 ).

Helena says:
Can probably be really fun and nice 🙂
26 January 2019 - 11:30
Ama de casa says:
Hmm... Doesn't seem to be something for me. Firstly, there doesn't seem to be any programme items for either tenting or hotel camping, and I'm not much of a crosser either... 😉.
Haha! No, it sounds like a super fun event with lots of fun things 😀.
26 January 2019 - 9:50
Helena says:
Not cruising? Haha, don't know if I believe it 😉 But no, suspect the focus on tents is limited... 😉.
26 January 2019 - 11:30
Maria / Magnolia Magis says:
What a party! But what were you thinking, Helena? First you recommend the book The Ferry... After that you can never go on a ferry !!! ;D How scary as ever! I think I'll stick to the Murder in Midsomer and Agatha Christie, my reading glasses, the rocking chair and the stick ....;D
Joking aside: I hope everyone who is going has a great time!
26 January 2019 - 11:10
Helena says:
Haha, laughed when I read this comment! I did not think of that, but sooo true. Very funny (crazy) to first recommend a horror book about a Finnish ferry and then a party ... haha. Hope we don't have vampires in the motorhomes 😉.
26 January 2019 - 11:32
Maria / Magnolia Magis says:
Hujamej! Let's hope so!!!!

Mr Robert Wiberg says:
Hey, hey, hey, hey,
In the advertising of the special cruise caravan & camping, a price of 649: - is stated. But if you go ahead and book this on Viking Line, it costs 1707: -. This feels like you are being cheated if you do not look up. False marketing ???✓✓
26 January 2019 - 12:57
Helena says:
The price example of 649 SEK per person is correct (if you book the cheapest option). I have just called Vikingline and checked! To get that price, you have to share a cabin (economy cabin) with someone and you have to use the early booking code on the booking page.
26 January 2019 - 13:50
Veiken says:
You are really early with your cruise! But it is important to stand on if you want to be involved in fun stuff!
26 January 2019 - 16:58
Helena says:
For once, in good time 😉.
27 January 2019 - 8:12
Reiselinda says:
It sounds fun, but I have to think about it. It's a bit far ahead in time!
26 January 2019 - 17:17
Helena says:
Oh, it would be fun if you want to come along!!! 🙂
27 January 2019 - 8:13
Ditte says:
Great idea! And this with different theme cruises usually attracts.
26 January 2019 - 17:54
Helena says:
Theme cruise can be fun! We have gone on one before, but with a completely different theme then 😉.
27 January 2019 - 8:13
Deciree says:
Sounds like an absolutely incredible thing there...too bad I'm so scared to be on the sea...it's enough with crossings from Trelleborg to Germany 😉 Hope you have a great time on that trip. Hugs to you both
26 January 2019 - 18:19
Helena says:
Oh yes, you don't like being at sea .... a bit tricky then maybe 😉 Hugs!
27 January 2019 - 8:14
BP says:
What a fun and different approach. A little new thinking there. Well done to the magazine:-)
26 January 2019 - 20:37
Helena says:
Right? Like the idea 🙂
27 January 2019 - 8:14
Eva says:
What a pity that it is not clear that it is a "from price" and you do not discover the price difference until you book. I have gathered a large group of interested people but many probably fall away when the price means sleeping in a bunker under the car deck. 🙁
The idea is otherwise super fun and many of us were keen to join in despite it being a Sunday.
27 January 2019 - 8:06
Helena says:
Ah, I understand! It is of course important that it is clear from the beginning!!! It is true that the price applies to part of the economy cabin, and if you want to book a better cabin, it costs more (there are a lot of different cabin variants on those boats, I think;)) On the Caravan & Camping page it says "price from 649 kr", so I guess you mean on VikingLine's page then? It says iofs exactly what is included in the price example, but I understand that you may only notice the price, that is what is most visible. We can check with them if it can be clarified!!! Sad that you feel this way! Would be fun to have you with you! 🙂
27 January 2019 - 8:20
Eva says:
.... and now I saw that it says "from 649:-. Sorry! Anyway, a bit of a shame that there is such a significant price difference between the cabs. It is in the cabin you spend the least time ..... and money.
27 January 2019 - 8:22
Helena says:
Hello again Eva! I actually called VikingLine now (again!) to sort this out properly. To get the price indicated in the example, you have to choose a Picolo cabin (the very cheapest cabin option I think) and you have to make this choice manually. However, I have given them feedback that it should be pre-set - i.e. better to first get the price actually advertised and then manually upgrade to a more expensive cabin! The cabin option that is preset means that you instead end up at SEK 1707 for two (ie SEK 853 / person). Agree that this was unclear! He I talked to was at least understanding, agreed with me and promised to pass on the feedback!
27 January 2019 - 9:30
Sanna Friborg says:
Hey, hey, hey, hey,
Sanna from Husvagn & Camping here. I will also check with Viking Line if they can ensure that the cheapest option is the one that is preset.
The reason there is such a big difference in cabin prices is because we have pushed the cheapest option down as much as we can. It includes a dinner buffet with drinks and breakfast, so the price is very favourable. Other cabins are at a normal price level.
Hope to see you in November!

Across the board says:
Nice idea but by that time we'll probably be in Portugal.
28 January 2019 - 7:43
Mickey-60 says:
Nice to have a meeting on a ferry. The problem is that the wife does not like boats or small aeroplanes. I spent a lot of time on M/S Öhrviken II as a child. I still have time to persuade her. The lowest price for a cabin is probably without a valve (windows for you landlubbers).

So funny! 🙂
