Last Friday we went on a party cruise with Viking Line, to test their new concept "The CocoLoco Experience" on Viking Cinderella. We experienced an unusually good cruise with fantastic food and nice hanging out in the spa area. But we start by telling you about the party, and that cocoloco experience ... whatever it is?

Party cruise with Viking Line
We were invited during Friday-Saturday as press, to test the new concept "The CocoLoco Experience" - a party cruise with Viking Line. Now it is of course optional how much you want to party. On Saturday morning, we met a bunch of local politicians who had a conference on the ferry and said "What's the CocoLoco Experience?". and then "Well, we were never in the nightclub".
In other words, you can party or not party, but for those who want to, there is a lot going on in the nightclub on board the Viking Cinderella, on Fridays and Saturdays.
The CocoLoco Experience
So, what is "The CocoLoco Experience"? Viking Line obviously wants to innovate and find new ways to entertain, and has therefore tried to think outside the box. What is fun about The CocoLoco Experience is that the entertainment takes place in the nightclub, both in front of and around the audience, while the audience dances. There are live performances with dancing, mixed with smoke, balloons and laser guns.
The coolest thing to see was probably the aerial acrobatics, which took place both above the stage and above the audience while the audience danced.
What did we think?
We really liked that "The CocoLoco Experience" is something that happens in the nightclub while people are partying and dancing. It's a complete experience instead of just watching a show. before you go dancing yourself. At the same time, it felt like they might need to take things a step further.
Although the show was mostly good, there were strange breaks between the show and the other artists of the evening, when the stage floor had to be cleaned and the dancing people had to be removed. Here, you had to listen to the classic stiff ferry announcements that can make any partying person lose speed. So ... here's hoping for some improvement!
Artists on board
In addition to being offered "The CocoLoco Experience", there are always different artists on the cruises on Fridays and Saturdays. Last Friday it was Lina Hedlund and Andreas Lundstedt, both of whom have previously been in Alcazar. During the spring there will be a lot of different artists, and you can check out upcoming artists and bands at Viking Line. For example, Moneybrother, Mando Diao and Hoffmaestro are coming later this spring.
Lina Hedlund
Lina Hedlund is best known for singing with the group Alcazar for many years. They have now closed down as a group, but Lina is instead a solo artist in Melodifestivalen 2019. And of course, on a party cruise with Viking Line last Friday!
Andreas Lundstedt
Andreas Lundstedt is known from exactly the same group, and performed right after Lina. Here the pressure on the dance floor increased, really good atmosphere!
More news - food and spa
Viking Line is launching several news on Viking Cinderella right now, and it is about much more than party. Among other things, we got to try the Swedish Chef National Team's winning menu from the World Cup in Luxembourg (!), and it was really cruel delicious! The reason we got to taste this food is that Viking Line will actually launch this menu a little later this spring. We will of course tell you more soon! But even if you eat the buffet, it is also composed by the national chef team.
Another novelty on board Viking Cinderella is that the spa department has refreshed and switched to a new brand, namely the German care series BABOR. We tried both the bubble bath and one of the new treatments. Lovely!
In summary, you can go on a real party cruise with Viking Line if you want, but if you prefer spa and good food, it is also good. We ourselves are satisfied with a really varied and nice cruise. And if you are wondering how it went with Peter's quit smoking project, we can announce that it went very good. He even managed to inspire others in the smoking room to switch to e-cigarettes, without nicotine.

Sounds really nice - but the name implies that it's weirdos or crazy people who go. Hahaha.....
PS. Those of you who travel so much - check if e-cigs are allowed in the country you are visiting! Here in Thailand it is completely forbidden since a few years. Nevertheless, a big CONGRATULATIONS to Peter! Once you have decided, it is easy as pie to stop smoking. I know!!!

Nice with your report! Understand that it was a festive cruise. Had an invitation but cancelled this time.
Is not really my thing to go Cinderella on a Friday-Saturday. Have done it once and in my opinion too much party. (You know that with age.) But Cinderella we go sometimes and often there are very good artists.

Sounds a bit like the nightclubs in Ibiza and Berlin, but more mello-schlager show. I think I'll stick to the rock and punk boats in the future:)

Was about to say about the same thing as Ditte; -) Fun that Viking Line renews itself and tries to think outside the box. It is probably a must as the competition on the Baltic Sea is quite tough.
