Finally, a motorhome (or caravan) that stands out! The Westfalia Kepler Sixty is like a red caramel from the 50s. You immediately want to take it home and go retro camping in sunny summer Sweden.

Finally, a motorhome that stands out
We're currently at the Caravan Stockholm motorhome and caravan show at Kistamässan outside Stockholm. Although we love motorhomes, after a few rounds at a fair, it can sometimes feel a bit boring. After all, most motorhomes look approximately look the same.
Large and semi-large motorhomes are usually white, and 'flatbeds' can possibly be black. They vary with long beds or queen beds, and the kitchen can surprise you with different designs and finishes on the drawers and cabinets. The design is rarely more surprising than that. No wonder we were thrilled when we saw the Westfalia Kepler Sixty at Caravan Stockholm!
Small car with room for four
The Westfalia Kepler Sixty is 5.30 metres long, has a weight of 2800 kg and is equipped with a 150 hp petrol engine, with the best environmental classification. The car has four seats and four beds. Two of the sleeping places are in the unfolding sofa, while the others can be accommodated in the folding roof.
The driver's seats can be swivelled and the sofa is on rails, so it can be pulled back and forth as required. The dining table can be removed, if desired, and there are plenty of cupboards along the wall. The kitchen is small, but still contains two hotplates, a fridge, sink and a 40 litre fresh water tank. There is no toilet.
What do we think?
What a wonderfully cute little campervan! We think it's a bit too small for us, but it should be able to find loving owners. The comfort can of course not be compared to a larger motorhome, but if you are only prepared to do some manoeuvres a lá Goofy on Christmas Eve, you have most of what you need.
The motorhome we looked at is sold by Solhem Husbil, and the show price (including extras) was 699,000 SEK. The base price was set at 671,000 SEK, and possible options include leather steering wheel, reversing camera, petrol heating, mosquito net, awning and bike rack.
More motorhomes at Caravan Stockholm
We've seen a lot of other motorhomes at Caravan Stockholm this year, and you can see that flatbeds are still hot. For example, we checked out the Volkswagen Grand California (not the motorhome in the picture), which arrived in Sweden the morning of the show. We'll be back soon with more reports!
What do you like about the Westfalia Kepler Sixty? Could you imagine a flatbed with a 50s feel?

It was really cute!
A "stupid" question, is there a toilet in these cabins?
16 February 2019 - 7:05
Helena says:
Not a stupid question at all! But it's stupid that I missed writing it in the article, so I'm updating the information now! No, in this particular one (which is more like a modern public bus), there is no toilet. In other "ordinary" buses there is usually a toilet!

Solan says:
Nice camper...but almost 700,000 for a polka dot pig that doesn't even have a toilet is a bit much!
???

Helena says:
The price difference between really small caravans and slightly larger vans is sometimes very small, we've noticed ...

Ama de casa says:
Oh what a nice one! Huuur delicious as ever! But I think I will continue with my hotel camping... 😀.

Helena says:
Isn't it cute? But I'm sure your hotel campsite is comfortable and good too 🙂 .

I get really nostalgic. In the 70s we travelled around in a VW bus that was orange. Home construction but then we were young and were happy to crowd. Nice memories from those years?

Helena says:
What memories!!! Sounds cosy 🙂

Hehe, wow, red and white. It felt a bit unexpected for a motorhome. Thinking more about boats. But it was fun.

Sometimes new colour combinations come along and surprise you 🙂 .

Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
Absolutely amazing that they get so much into a Volkswagen. We have seen many on our travels. And it was on the Volkswagen that Carthago began its journey.
16 February 2019 - 12:55
Helena says:
Right? Charming, this type of caravan! 🙂

Mikael prim says:
Why should they be so disgustingly expensive?
16 February 2019 - 13:46
Helena says:
Well, we can't answer that ...

BP says:
What a cute campervan! It has character! Very reminiscent of the old folk bus that many people converted into a camper. Good there Westfalia!
16 February 2019 - 17:54
Helena says:
Agree, very charming! 🙂

Reiselinda says:
Good to see you today! Sure, this little motorhome was a little pop of colour, but we also prefer a bit more comfort. Found some interesting solutions, but are not looking to change the motorhome for a couple of years yet.
16 February 2019 - 20:38
Helena says:
Great to see you! And what a charming car!? But yes, for our part, we also want a slightly larger car with comfort. Can imagine a plough but! 🙂

Per says:
The price of 700.000 discourages even if it breathes nostalgia !
16 February 2019 - 21:11
Helena says:
Several people have commented on the price, and it is true that for the same amount of money you can get another larger motorhome.

Role o Carina says:
Sure it was cute but a bit too small for us and so expensive!
We are soooo happy with our Adria Coral Supreme 670 SL...
Have a good time and enjoy it there....

Elisabeth says:
Cute but too expensive. Don't want to be without a toilet. The colour could definitely be copied by a bigger car.
