As I (Helena) write this, I am suffering from a miserable migraine, but if it goes away on Friday, it will be really Happy Friday! Today we are also happy for the great interest in the Beach Basket Challenge!
Miserable migraines
Yesterday I (Helena) had a terrible migraine attack. When it is at its worst, I can not get liquid and vomit constantly. And then a headache from hell on top of that. Nothing is good about it except that it, hopefully, is better today. I'm also going to try a brand new medication, so it's a little, little hopeful. The post will not be so long today, however, as I am writing it on Thursday evening and do not feel well at all.
Lots of meetings
Peter has been running to meetings all week, with tourist offices and others, to discuss collaborations. Great fun! He also tries to walk to all meetings and one day the pedometer on his mobile phone showed no less than 24,000 steps!
This week he has also been elected to the board of the Swedish Association of Tourist Journalists. Great news! In the picture you can see Polish beer from a microbrewery that we had the chance to try this week, which went perfectly with the evening's Polish beer. zurek soup, which we cooked.
The beach basket challenge
We have received many expressions of interest in The beach basket challenge in Germany. Very funny! It is still possible to register interest until Sunday! (In the beginning we had accidentally written an earlier date for registration, we apologise for that!) We also forgot to ask if you who register interest have a dog, so please supplement with that information. To bring a dog on Stena Line, you need to book a special pet cabin, and therefore we need to know!
The best part of our week is that there has been so much interest in the Beach Basket Challenge. Really fun! It will also be a really Happy Friday if I can get rid of this miserable migraine. What has been the best part of your week?

Lena - good for the soul says:
Ugh, that awful migraine. It was a long time ago for me now, thank goodness!
The best thing this week has been that spring has really been felt with slightly higher temperatures!

I really hope you get rid of your migraine today and have a Happy Friday.
It's great that Peter has been elected to the board of the Swedish Association of Tourist Journalists; hard work has paid off.
We certainly understand the interest in the beach basket challenge. Travelling with a motorhome in a group seems like great fun.
Our week has been so nice. Golf, long walks and eating out in the sun (except in the evenings when the down jackets come out) is just so lovely this time of year.

Helena says:
It sounds like you had a wonderful and nice week! Wishing you a nice weekend!

How annoying with that miserable migraine! Hope it's gone now!
It's great that Peter was elected to the board - congratulations to him!
Here I was happy this week about the nice time we have here now and the little day trip we made on Wednesday. Small "trips" are also fun 🙂
Have a nice and hopefully pain-free Friday!

Also got the damn migraine yesterday. Often gets rid of the pain with a high dose of Sumatriptan but the nausea is still there. Takes motion sickness pills sometimes but gets so tired then. Hope you feel better today and have a wonderful weekend. We are going to Åre so I have to make sure to start packing soon... Hugs to you!
29 March 2019 - 10:31
Helena says:
Oh no, how annoying that you also got a migraine! When it's at its worst, I don't get any medication, and even if I do, it doesn't help. I always have to wait until I stop vomiting, which can take a day. Hope it goes away now that you are going to Åre and that you have a great time there! Hugs

Across the board says:
Really hope you feel better again! We have landed at home again after 6 months in the motorhome and help so big apartments feel ? It's probably soon time to roll away somewhere again!
29 March 2019 - 11:08
Helena says:
Yeah, what's the point of having more space? Best to roll soon 🙂

Mr Steve says:
That you just can't stand it. Yes, with that horrible migraine. Strong work as always.
I would also like to say that Peter has been elected to the board of the Swedish Association of Tourist Journalists.
FREEDOMtravel is always to be reckoned with!
Best part of my week? Liv's visit and overnight stay with us. Now Bobo has turned into Poffar. What is it? Grandad, of course.
29 March 2019 - 13:56
Helena says:
Sometimes you have to work hard 😉 Great progress to go from Bobo to Poffar! 🙂

Emma, sun like sun? says:
Fascinated that you even sit down at the computer with a migraine! Most people actually accept a day away and those who don't simply have to blame themselves. Maybe you can have one of those posts that are not so seasonal, to just publish just in case? Anyway, hope the migraines go away and you grow out of them (my husband seems to have done so, thankfully. He hasn't had an attack for several years now, just feelings).
Congratulations to Peter, what a great honour!
Have a great Friday!

Helena says:
It was actually on the hair that I got to this post. I wrote it on my mobile phone, a little at a time ... Of course we can skip if we have to, but I'm one of those who fights until the last 😉 How nice that your husband has outgrown it! Some say that it can disappear in menopause, so I can hope for that. For my grandmother, it passed at the age of 90, so she had ten years without migraines!

Maria / Magnolia Magis says:
I really hope it's gone now!!! The migraine then! I myself lie with the herniated disc today..hm..just in time for the final sprint on packing. In exactly one week we will move to Torekov! By the way, how has it gone with Peter and quitting smoking?
The best thing this week...Husband has finished the Defender so we can pack it full. Sunshine too! Happy Friday!
29 March 2019 - 15:50
Helena says:
Herniated disc, ugh, that doesn't sound fun! Hope it gets better soon! Difficult when you have to pack ....! Thank you for asking about Peter's smoking, it actually goes very well! He sometimes puffs on his electric cigarette (without nicotine) and sometimes he takes a nicotine patch. But no cigarettes! 🙂 (And no divorce, haha)

BP says:
I feel very sorry for you with the miserable migraine and really hope that the new medicine gives results. Because you have a long way to go until menopause to get rid of it or at least get fewer attacks.
Congratulations to Peter on being elected to the board of the Swedish Association of Tourist Journalists. Great fun, really!
29 March 2019 - 21:01
Helena says:
Thank you! 🙂 And yes, time to experiment with new medicine. We'll see what happens 😉

Ann-Louise Paulsson says:
Hope you feel better today! I have also been suffering from migraines for several days. No fun at all, but luckily I don't get quite as bad attacks as you do. When I was younger I also vomited but nowadays I don't have that part.
30 March 2019 - 16:23
Helena says:
Thank you very much, yes it is better now! (Although it can sit in a little aftermath for a few days). Sad that you also suffered from migraines, but nice that your attacks have become a little milder!
