New direct flights to Poland from Gothenburg

The airline Ryanair will open two new routes from Göteborg Landvetter to Poland. One will go to Gdansk and the second to Katowice. The routes will start on 27 and 30 October respectively. Ryanair already operates flights from Gothenburg to Krakow and Warsaw. Including the two new destinations, Ryanair will fly to 19 European destinations from Landvetter.

Sleeping places on economy class flights

Airline Thomas Cook is launching economy class berths, reports the UK's Daily Mail newspaper. The berths are being launched on long-haul flights on the Airbus A330 aircraft, and will be available at extra cost from 13 May. The berths will be arranged by sleeping across three seats, but the space will be cheaper than three seats. However, there will only be four berths per flight.

Boeing suspends deliveries of the 737 Max model

The horrific crash of a Boeing 737 Max aircraft in Ethiopia was the second crash of the same aircraft model within six months. Several countries have banned the model from flying after the accident, and now several media outlets are reporting that Boeing is pausing all deliveries of the aircraft model. According to Expressen, the suspension could cost Boeing nearly SEK 50 billion.

Toyota launches motorhome for lunar travel

The British newspaper Daily Mail reports that Toyota has plans for a mobile home for lunar travel. The RV is pressurised, so that the crew can live in the vehicle without spacesuits. The vehicle is 6 metres long, 5.2 metres wide and 3.8 metres high. The living space is 13 cubic metres and there is room for two people, or four in an emergency. The vehicle will be able to travel 10 000 kilometres and is powered by solar panels and fuel cell technology. The goal is to have the vehicle in operation by 2029.

The new Gotland ferry has been unveiled

M/S Visborg was recently shown to the press and public in Visby. Destination Gotland and its parent company Rederi AB Gotland are investing in sustainable growth and state that they are now taking a major step towards creating a climate-neutral ferry service to and from the island. The new M/S Visborg is the starting point for the transition to gas operation, to reduce CO2 emissions.

This weekend, 22-24 March, it's time for the Explore fair, which is aimed at people with an interest in outdoors, adventure and outdoor life. The fair is organised at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö.
