Do you remember that the Swedish National Culinary Team won the World Cup in Luxembourg last autumn? Now you can try the World Cup winning menu on board Viking Cinderella. We got the chance to test the menu already in February, when the menu was served during a press trip. This is what we thought!

Cruise with Viking Cinderella
On a Friday evening in February we were invited as press to test Viking Line's new concept "The CocoLoco Experience" on the Viking Cinderella. On the same cruise we had time to test the new spa offer. Not wrong at all!
But not only that, we also had time to enjoy the Swedish National Culinary Team's World Cup winning menu. We haven't written about it before because it felt a bit boring to tell you about something that was not yet available for sale. But as of yesterday (18 March) you can book the World Cup menu, or rather a tasting menu signed by the Swedish National Culinary Team.
Swedish national cookery team
The Swedish National Culinary Team consists of ten chefs and pastry chefs who, under the leadership of Fredrik Andersson, represent Sweden in international cookery competitions. In November 2018, they won the World Cup in Luxembourg with a menu that pleased the international judges. They are now training for the Culinary Olympics in Stuttgart in February 2020.
The winning menu at the Viking Cinderella
When we were on board the Viking Cinderella, we got to test the menu that the National Culinary Team won in the World Cup in Luxembourg. In addition to the fact that it was good (yes, it was!) We had a very, very nice evening together with a bunch of food writers who happened to be our table neighbours. What about the menu? Yes, you can see it in our little photo series here!
Very fun to try a menu that won the World Cup! Everything was super good and the starter with turbot and vendace roe really melted in the mouth.
Tasting menu on the Viking Cinderella
Viking Line is now launching an opportunity to experience a tasting menu signed by the Swedish National Culinary Team, which includes the winning dishes from Luxembourg. The menu will be served on Viking Cinderella, which runs between Stockholm and Åland, and only for a small number of guests.
The tasting menu consists of 6 dishes, both from the winning menu and from previous competition menus. Everything is prepared and served on board by the Swedish National Culinary Team together with Viking Line's staff. Only 12 places are offered every Friday and Saturday, during the month of May. If you are interested, you can read more and book at Viking Line website.

The national chef team has collaborated with Viking Line before, I know, so maybe it was then? Peter is coming to the event today! I have to work on my other job 😉

Truly a delight for the eye that food! Guess it is for the palate as well 😉.
I like gourmet food, but preferably not in overly 'fancy' surroundings.
I can't remember ever doing a crossword puzzle? Maybe time to try it soon? 😉 😀
Have a lovely day! It's raining here... Really nice, actually 🙂 .

I can probably agree with you there, I love really good food (and it can be a bit creative) but it is more important that it is cosy than fancy 😉.

Good food is liked and we go from time to time both to Åland and Finland both with Birka, where I like the ship and the cabins better than Cinderella's. But the food on Cinderella has usually been better. Nice to hear your thoughts and your review with nice pictures.
We recently went on a cruise in South America and ate so well for three weeks, but maybe we'll try this menu later this spring.

We thought the trip with Cinderella was really nice, not least the spa and food! 🙂 However, this particular menu is only a short period and for a few bookings per trip. We have not actually crossed Birka, but we may also do that at some point. The cruise in South America seemed amazing!!!

Yummie, yummie! Great idea to serve the national team's winning menu. It's just a pity that only a few people get the chance to enjoy the dishes.
Long cruises are not our thing, but there have been a large number of cruises to the Baltic States, Poland and Finland.

Ojoj, that looked really yummy. Just wondering if there will be something similar on our upcoming cruise to Kiel 🙂 🙂 🙂.
