As this post is published, we are on our way to Kiel, Germany on the StenaLine ferry Germanica. All seven motorhomes, including the one we are testing, are on board and we have had time to socialise and get to know each other. Now we are looking forward to the adventure in Germany!
We test a Swift motorhome
As we've said before, this time we don't have our own motorhome. Instead, we are testing a motorhome from the company Swift: Swift Tuscany 794eb. We've become very fond of Swift motorhomes when we've seen them at trade shows, and we've written about motorhomes in the family Tuscany when we visited Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2016. Now it will be really exciting to try one for real. We will of course return with a report later!

Ferry Gothenburg - Kiel
We met the other participants at the ferry terminal in Gothenburg, and then boarded the ferry Stena Germanica. We've travelled this route before and once wrote about the ferry journey in the other direction, from Kiel to Gothenburg. A nice ferry between Sweden and Germany!
For us and the rest of the Beach Basket Challenge team, it was dinner in the buffet restaurant and an opportunity to get to know each other. We knew some of the couples before, but several we have never met before. So we very fun!
There's wifi on board StenaLine's ferries, but since we're uploading heavy photos, and because we wanted to have time to socialise with the rest of the gang, we decided to play it safe and write this blog post before we hit international waters.

Now the adventure awaits in Germany!
Now we start our journey in Germany! We will be travelling along the coast, and a little bit inland, through the federal states of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Soon the competitions between the motorhome teams will also start. We will update every day and you can also read more about the trip here:

Yes, it was smart! It was possible to check social media from time to time, but uploading photos would not have worked. Saw that there is premium internet though! Have not checked what it costs.

Nice that you drove Swift in the 90s! Just as you say, they have come back to Sweden. We have been impressed when we have seen them at trade fairs, including safety, technical solutions and the fact that many things are in the original version. Now we go test for real! 🙂

What licence (körkort) do you need to drive it?
There has been talk of being able to drive a motorhome up to 4250 kg with a class B licence, in the same way as a car + caravan, but I didn't think this had come into force yet?
