Happy Friday! What wonderful summer days we have had! We are also happy that we finally have a sewage pump, after a number of days without being able to shower or wash dishes. But most of all we are happy that we are travelling to Croatia today!

What summer days!
Yes, we know, it rained yesterday. But... before the weather was fantastic! You have been able to hang out on the deck in a bikini here in Pampas marinaand that is something to be happy and grateful for.
Sweet ducklings
Right now there is a good chance of seeing cute ducklings. These three just swam past our houseboat. The daddy ducks aren't quite as cute when they're about to... make ducklings, sometimes you wonder if the poor females will drown in the process. But at least the chicks are something to be happy about!
Repaired sewage pump ... at last
Our sewage pump has been slowly getting worse and worse, and last Friday a repairman came to visit. He cleared the pump of grease (huh...) and then it worked great... for half a day. Saturday morning it died completely.
So this past weekend we had no sewage pump, which makes life a bit difficult in general. You can't go to the toilet, you can't shower, you can't wash the dishes, you can't brush your teeth as usual and you can't pour out the pasta or egg water. For example. On Monday, the repairman came and fixed the pump for real. Happy Monday!
En route to Croatia
We are currently on our way to Croatia, or... Zadar to be precise. We are looking forward to this and it looks like the weather will be fantastic. We may not have time to blog about the trip tomorrow (we have prepared another post) - but after that we will report. Of course, you can also follow the trip on @freedomtravelnews on Instagram.
Update: No, we are not on our way yet... Once at Arlanda we realised that we left a day too early, haha. It's a bit much to think about in our lives right now ... but soon!
What has been the best part of your week?
A lot of bad things always happen, so it's important to focus on the positive as much as possible, right? What has been most positive during your week (big and small)?

Ruth in Virginia says:
Lovely weather - the flowers are blooming and my tomato plant.
getting higher and higher; starting to need some support.
Visiting children, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
A full house, in other words. The daughter had a visit from a college
friend she hadn't seen in 25 years. There was a lot of talking, if you can believe it. That's funny!
Off to bed. Have a nice trip!

Lovely with nice weather, and children and grandchildren visiting! 🙂 And thank you! Now the trip will be a day later than we thought (because we had thought wrong ...) but soon we will leave! 🙂

Wishing you a nice trip, just check the tickets carefully ?
We are also going on a small trip but not as far as you. This time we will settle for Hönö and Öckerö, but first we have to work for a few hours.
Have a good happy Friday ?

Helena says:
Yes, that was the thing about checking the tickets carefully ... Wishing you a nice trip to Hönö and Öckerö!

I am very jealous of your trip to Croatia...I really want to go there again. There is so clean and nice on the campsites and clear bathing water ... incomparably nice. Have a nice trip. Hugs

Tonight they will be fishing in Skälderviken see if it bites. Sewerage can complicate that to pour grease into the drain maybe better to ensure that it comes with the soups out. We were advised to pour Yes Diskmedel first when we pour off potato water, for example. Should be good for the drain dissolves the fat.
Have a good trip

Helena says:
Grease in the drain is not good, so we will be more careful in the future. Now, however, it was another error that caused it to stop, but the grease should of course be avoided anyway. Have a nice weekend!

Emma, sun like sun? says:
Haha! A day early. Sorry I laugh, understand that you did not. Gosh, how lucky it was that way! Not like some friends here where a few years ago they were going to celebrate Midsummer and when they are at Carrefour buying drinks and strawberries for the evening party they were going to and then realise that my goodness, he was going to go home to Sweden in three hours! So much for that ...
Grease can cause a lot of trouble in the drain. In old drains they become like sharp thorns where other rubbish (like toilet paper) gets stuck and then the blockage is a fact. So with that experience, I always wipe out frying pans with paper first, oil I pour off in a special bottle that is then thrown in special recycling for it (a lot of oil is used in Spain!). Nice that it is now fixed before the trip so it does not hang over you.
"The father ducks aren't quite as cute when it comes to making ducklings..." applies to more than just ducks, doesn't it? 😀
Yes, it's also Happy Friday for me! I have now presented my little project that I have been working on for a few weeks. I'm celebrating with a competition and - what I hope people think - a nice prize! So welcome to me!

Now you have an extra day to look forward to your Zadar trip. Very lucky that it was in that direction. Have myself missed the flight because it was suddenly summer time on Gomera without us noticing anything.
Fun now afterwards but stressful then.
The best day of the week was Monday when the weather was fantastic and we had lunch with friends on the shores of Lake Vänern. Sweden is fantastic as they say and on Monday it was completely true.
Nice trip from the wheelhouse

Helena says:
Lisa, right? Sad to miss the La Gomera flight! In any case, we were lucky that we were wrong in the "right" direction, ie the flight only goes tomorrow. And Sweden can be fantastic when it shows itself from its best side!
14 June 2019 - 11:50
Helena says:
Emma, you just have to laugh about it!!! No big damage really (except for some unnecessary taxi money), but worse things can happen if you say so. Tomorrow it's off! 🙂
We will also try to be more careful to avoid grease in the drain in the future. Now there was another error as well (some part that needed to be replaced) but the grease should still be avoided. Project and competition? Must peek in with you! 🙂

Haha! Sure it can get messy with the days sometimes, but better a day too early than a day too late 🙂 .
I'm looking forward to the trip we have going on now - I checked the computer's calendar to make sure it's the right day, and it is 😀.
Have a nice trip when the time comes! 🙂

You will be hot in Zadar. Here around Split we've had over 30, up to 34 degrees over a week and it looks set to continue. Is about as hot in Zadar. ?

Good that I/we are not alone in getting days wrong. It happened to me twice. Once a train journey to Åre that we missed, and then the flight home from Bulgaria. But you did it in the "right direction" you had kind of foresight;-)
Have a wonderful time in Croatia and Zadar.
