Try the delicious local food
The restaurants in Alanya offer the best in traditional cooking, combined with the freshest local produce. seasonal food. - Pura Vida. Owned by a Danish couple who dreamed of opening a restaurant in their favourite destination, there's always something new for the regulars to try. New salads and starters every day, and live music makes the atmosphere fun and inviting.
- EV Restaurant. Built around an old house in Alanya ("EV" means house in Turkish), EV Restaurant is dripping with Alanya atmosphere. Live music every night adds to the ambience and house specialities include meze, pizza and fine steaks. EV is a more affordable and relaxed option for a night on the town.
- Season. The chef here has won the prestigious Bocuse d'Or for Turkey twice! This restaurant offers a tasting menu of seven gourmet dishes, and the staff can recommend fine wines that go perfectly with the food. Don't miss this tranquil spot - and book in advance!
- En Vie Beach. This boutique hotel, restaurant and bar on the beach serves a champagne brunch every Sunday. What better way to spend your Sunday than enjoying good food in good company and with a great view?
Relaxing with an evening drink
The bar district of Alanya brings the harbour to life with disco balls and neon lights. During the summer months the area is buzzing with life, but you can also find something quieter if you prefer.
- White-in-White Beach Club and Restaurant. If you're looking for a really special place to have a drink and watch the sunset, the recently reopened White-in-White is hard to beat. It has always been a popular spot and the surroundings are now better than ever. If you're in the mood, you can book a table at the top-notch restaurant and have dinner too.
- Queen's Garden. This family-friendly bar offers cocktails, drinks and light meals in the centre of Alanya. The music is always great and regular dance performances entertain guests.
- Ehl-i-Keyf. For something a little more traditional, and completely non-alcoholic, try this coffee shop in a renovated Ottoman residence. You can drink tea, try 'nargile' (hookah) and play backgammon.
Dance until dawn
Thanks to tourism in Alanya, the nightlife is fun and welcoming. Both young and old can find great places to dance in the bar district. There are plenty of clubs to keep you entertained until the wee hours - ready for another day at the beach.
- Summer Garden. No trip to Alanya is complete without a visit to Summer Garden - the best outdoor disco in the whole region! Here you can dance until the morning when all other clubs and bars have closed. It is the most long-lived disco in Alanya, so the owners must be doing something right here!
- Crazy Horse. Crazy Horse doubles as a texmex/sushi restaurant by day and lively dance bar by night, and is popular with a more exclusive crowd. With a fantastic rooftop bar, in-house and guest DJ acts, you're sure to end your evening in style.
- Robin Hood. With its four floors, this club has something for everyone. Friendly staff welcome guests from all over the world and it is one of the most popular clubs in the area.
- Havana Club. If you want your nightlife to be a little more energetic and wild, this is the place for you. With different DJ acts every night throughout the summer and dancers to get the party started, you won't forget your evening here.
Do you usually end your evening in a casino?
You won't find casinos in Alanya, or anywhere else in Turkey. This is because they were banned by the state in 1998. People who live here can't get their entertainment online either through foreign casino sites, and people who enter them risk being penalised. However, many Turks like to gamble online and take this risk anyway.
When locals want to play at the casino, they head over to Northern Cyprus. Alanya to Girne (also known as Kyrenia in Cyprus) is a popular route. ferry line - and no wonder! Sure, there aren't any casinos in Alanya or anywhere in the region, but head over to Girne and you can take your pick. If you want to take a trip there, then book in advance to make sure that you not missing the ferries - they are not available all year round.
Alanya has everything
With its rich history, south coast location, bustling harbour and perfect beach, Alanya continues to attract visitors from all over the world. Thanks to the resort's popularity with native Turkish tourists, you still get the chance to experience the real Turkey. Everything feels accessible and welcoming.
Whatever you're looking for on your trip to Alanya - a long holiday with lots of partying, or a weekend of good food and beautiful views - you won't be disappointed.
