This week, we can tell you about 'Aqua Village' launching in Västervik, a rail pass for the north of England, and high ozone levels in France - leading to a temporary ban on driving in environmental zones for some vehicles. What are your thoughts on this week's travel news?

Aqua Village launched in Västervik
As many as 17 per cent of squid County residents state that they would primarily choose to live on a floating villa as an alternative form of accommodation. This is according to a new Sifo survey from Svensk Fastighetsförmedling. The estate agency chain is now introducing a new residential area in Västervik with floating villas, built by AquaVilla Produktion AB. The 17 floating villas have a living area of 78-207 square metres and went on sale on 24 June.
Research on inclusive tourism
How can marketing of places become less stereotypical and more inclusive? Researchers at Malmö University will study how marketing and multi-ethnic advertising affect us and the impact of our own ethnicity, class and attitudes. They will use "eye-tracking" to see what people look at in images and look at how international tourists describe places on social media, in relation to how the places are described by the tourism industry.
Resia offers rail passes in England

You choose where you start and end, and the pass is activated and valid from the day you make your first train journey.
Loka Brunn inaugurates newly remodelled spa
On 4 September, Loka Brunn inaugurates its newly rebuilt Water Salon - a modern spa inspired by the region's ponds, water lilies, forests and waterfalls. The Water Salon overlooks Lake Norra Loken and features several new hot springs, a large indoor pool, a new gym and the soothing Gläntan relaxation room.
High ozone levels lead to driving bans in France
For the first time, France has imposed a temporary driving ban on Crit'Air category 3 vehicles due to high ozone levels. This includes allowing only Euro 5 or 6 diesel cars and motor homes (up to 3.5 tonnes) and Euro 4.5 or 6 petrol cars to enter the Paris ring road, the A86 motorway, and banning 57% of all vehicles. Bans were also introduced in Grenoble, Marseille and Strasbourg. The Crit'Air eco-label is required on both French and foreign vehicles. Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
I could imagine a floating villa as an alternative form of accommodation. Is the same high standard as you have in the villa.
The environmental label for France is on the front windscreen.

Helena says:
Yes exactly, it is just as good a standard in the floating villas (the same company that builds them as our neighbouring villas, i.e. Pampa's subsidiary).

Floating accommodation a novelty? Well... I seem to have heard about it some time before somewhere... 😉.
Have a great start to the second half of 2019!

Helena says:
Haha, no it is not completely new with floating accommodation 😉 But it is difficult to get started in new municipalities, with all the rules and permits. By the way, it is in Västervik the factory is located, our neighbouring villas are also built there.

So, it would be something with a floating house. Have a boat harbour right outside the door, maybe should lobby to get something similar there. 🙂

Yes, I think so! ???

Glad that aquaavillor seems to get a new start. Know that there are a bunch at Nacka Strand that were incredibly difficult to sell a few years ago. Would not have the slightest objection to living in such a villa, I can say.
Since my husband is from the north of England, I think it's a great idea to put that part of England on the map, although I might not necessarily have chosen the football towns, where many people are travelling anyway. I would probably have chosen the north-eastern part of England, where there are many beaches and fantastic typically English villages.

Helena says:
I don't really know the conditions in Backa Strand? Here they are not so difficult to sell, what we have seen. Northern England certainly has a lot to offer!
