We are now home in the houseboat again, after our three-week campervan trip in Estonia. It has been a fantastic trip, but it is of course also nice to be home in the boat in the summer heat. Now we have an exciting (and challenging) project ahead of us!
Nice trip in Estonia - with a nice ending
The whole trip in Estonia has been fantastic. Even though we have seen and done a lot, it has felt relaxing, maybe because it is so relaxing. calm and easy travelling in Estonia. In the end, the weather also turned and we had a week of lovely summer weather. Here are the blog posts from the last week of the trip:
- Kynö in Estonia - the island where women are in charge
- Saaremaa in Estonia - Island of windmills
- Dagö in Estonia - among lighthouses and Swedish history
- Haapsalu in Estonia - noise pollution on the coast
- Rummu quarry in Estonia - prison became a bathing paradise
- Keila waterfall in Estonia - and a romantic park
Home in the houseboat again
Now we are home in the houseboat again, in the extreme summer heat. I (Helena) have started working and it has almost been nice to get into the cool office, haha. In the houseboat we have all the doors and windows open.
The small boats are chugging in and out of the marina, and something is happening all the time. Fun! On the other side of Lake Ulvsunda, a larger model boat has docked.
We have also had a family of swans visit us several times. They have swum past the window and it is difficult both to count them and to photograph them all. I think there are eight kids!
An exciting project underway
The best part of this week is of course the trip to Estonia. We also have a fun (and challenging!) project ahead of us. We'll tell you more on Sunday!

Even though it is fun with work and nice colleagues, the best part of the week is probably that a long holiday started in an almost tropical summer weather.
We started yesterday with BAO at Trädgårdsföreningen in Gbg and now the motorhome is heading for Lake Vänern and camping with children and grandchildren.

It was a fascinating trip you made in Estonia.
How nice to have a family of swans in the marina.
It's quite appealing to live in a houseboat in this heat.

Understand that you had a great trip in Estonia. Have done a similar but many years ago and divided into a couple of summers.
But it's good to be back home again.
The boat you saw is chartered and passed through the Hammarbyslussen with us yesterday. It is 52 metres long.
Fun with new projects and challenges. Glad to hear more.
Best of the week? Firstly, the fantastic work trip to the High Coast. It was very successful. This year too. And new job offers. So much fun!

Welcome home again then! Have followed you, but have not written any comments - a bit ashamed ...
The best thing this week is that we celebrated midsummer with our best friends - instead of the real one when Lasse was in the hospital ... 🙂 🙂.

Helena says:
Thank you very much! Glad you wanted to follow the journey! And of course you don't have to comment! How nice with an extra midsummer when Lasse could join! 🙂

The owners have unfortunately not been able to follow you the whole trip in Estonia as they are now away with me. But promise that they will make up for this when we land in Sweden.
The best part of my week is being on the road in Europe and seeing the owners relaxing. The stress of everyday life has completely gone and they are just enjoying themselves.

Like Ruth, I think your tour of Estonia was a journey of discovery for me. So many completely unexpected gems you have shown. Thanks for the free ride;-)
Good of you to start working today! On the other hand, it was a really short working week then;-)
I look forward to reading about your project.
