Finally, it was time to sail into Kröslin marina, or Kröslin Baltic Sea Resort as this five-star marina is also called. It was time for the last evening with the gang of the South Coast Balting Boating Rally 2019 and a farewell party in the marina's restaurant.

Sailing from Greifswald to Kröslin marina
We sailed from beautiful Greifswald at lunchtime and five hours later we arrived at Kröslin marina. The sailing meant first that we sailed out through the river Ryck and then that we came out on the open sea. This time there were not nearly as strong winds on the Baltic Sea as when we were sailing about the same distance in the other direction. Now it was instead a quiet sailing when we could enjoy the sun on deck.
Kröslin marina
Kröslin marina, or Kröslin Baltic Sea Resortis a five-star marina with plenty of berths for large sailing yachts. Really fun to walk around and look at all the nice boats! There is a restaurant with bar, harbour office, sailing shop and a fresh service building.
In Kröslin marina there are also a number of houses on the water, which reminded us a bit of our houseboat accommodation at home in Stockholm. Here, however, it is not permanent accommodation, but holiday accommodation for rent.
Farewell party for the sailing trip
As it was the last evening of the South Coast Baltic Boating Rally 2019 sailing trip, there was a farewell party. On the outdoor terrace outside the restaurant, a buffet was set up with grilled meat, salmon, pulled pork, potato gratin and more. There was also a slide show from the trip, speeches from the organisers and entertainment from a band.
Time to leave the sail yacht "The Wind"
The next morning it was time for us to leave sail the wind, which has been our home for a week. We have been comfortable and had time to settle in, so it felt almost a little sad. Of course, it was most sad to say goodbye to the wonderful group we travelled with - a nice mix of sailors, tourist agency representatives, photographers and journalists from Germany, Denmark, Poland and Russia.
Return journey from Kröslin marina
We were taken by car from Kröslin marina to Swinoujscie, where we took Polferrie's Cracovia ferry to Ystad. We then continued by train to Lund, and then took a night train up to Stockholm. What an adventure this has been!
What is the South Coast Baltic Boating Rally?
South Coast Baltic is an initiative to promote the southern Baltic Sea coast, which includes regions in Germany, Poland, Russia and Lithuania, welcoming sailors to all the fine marinas and tourists to the cities, beaches and natural areas of the region.
It does this by publishing a guidebook that lists all marinas and by organising the annual South Coast Baltic Boating Rally.
The trip goes every other year to the region around Poland and Germany and every other year to the region around Lithuania and Kaliningrad. Sailors with their own sailboat are welcome to join! You can read more at South Coast Baltics website.
