Now we are heading for our next adventure - a sailing trip in northern Germany. We started the trip by train through Sweden, and then took the ferry from Ystad to Swinoujscie in Poland.

Time for a sailing trip in Germany
Now it's time for us to embark on our next adventure: South Coast Baltic Boating Rally. This will be really fun and it really feels like an adventure, but as usual we are quite unprepared for what is to come. When you are at home, it is so hard to imagine that you will soon be somewhere completely different. Do you usually feel the same way when travelling?
Almost like a train journey
This time we left both car and motorhome at home (or well, the motorhome is in the workshop), and left the boat on foot. We travelled by train from Stockholm to Ystad (change in Lund), and there we continued by ferry to Swinoujscie in Poland.
It almost felt like we were going on a train trip when we left home! Since the central station is currently under construction, we had to take the train from Stockholm Södra. We were in good time and celebrated the start of the adventure with a beer.
Trains through Sweden
We booked a table on the train to sit and work at the computers. We had hoped that there would be electricity, but there was not. However, there was WiFi, which worked just fine.
Not just jobs
It wasn't just "work" on the train. I (Helena) took the opportunity to read, which I rarely take the time to do. I have a (perhaps unexpected?) passion for books with very unrealistic and imaginative plots. Now it was the end of "X The Last Place" by John Ajvide Lindqvist. I really love his books!
Ferry from Ystad to Swinoujcsie
In the evening we took the ferry from Polferries ferry M/F Cracovia from Ystad towards Swinoujscie. A first impression is that this ferry feels really fresh and nice. We may come back with some more info about the ferry. We take the night ferry there - and the day ferry home. Now sailing adventures await in Poland, but especially in northern Germany. Are you coming with us?
Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
When trains work and run on time, it is undoubtedly the best mode of transport available.
It will be exciting to follow your sailing adventures. Have a great time!

I agree, it's nice to go by train! We were a bit delayed, but not much 😉.

I agree that trains are a good way to travel even if it sometimes feels a bit uncertain when you arrive. It will be very exciting to follow you on your voyage and also see the ports you dock at.
Nice if you write a little more about the ferry from Ystad, we have probably only travelled there once and then it was not fresh.
Wishing you a nice trip

Helena says:
Well, we booked the train in very good time in case there would be delays... Apart from that uncertainty, we like travelling by train! Will return with a report both from here and about the ferry! ??

Train journeys seem to be in vogue now - we all want to be a bit climate-smart 😉.
Looking forward to the sailing adventure!

Helena says:
Right? ? The advantage was also that we could work on the train and that Peter did not have to drive our small car, which he thinks is a bit difficult to drive far.

Mr Steve says:
Sailing adventures, that sounds exciting.

It will be exciting! ??

Ditte says:
It will be great fun to join the sailing trip. Maybe you'll get bitten by the bug and buy a sailing boat....We've always liked sailing. Perfect that the train left so that you could catch the ferry. Today it is not entirely obvious that they go ...
07 August 2019 - 11:06
Helena says:
We might get bitten, but it will be a toy sailboat at most in that case? We have invested in renovating the motorhome and that alone was a big expense for us ... It will be great fun anyway! ?

Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
There were a lot of trains in my youth. More recently, steam locomotives are becoming another form of transport these days.
Can't wait to see what you come up with next

Helena says:
Steam locomotives are nice! ??

Let's hope that this workshop takes better care of FREEDOM. Sure
trains are easy to travel. It is as my male owner says, I can work on the train so no flights here not when he is travelling on business.
Will be exciting to follow this trip and thanks for the great boat tips. That boat looked nice.

Helena says:
We really hope that the workshop goes well! And I agree, on the train you can work, it's easy!

BP says:
See that Peter seems to be following the trend of growing a beard. Might as well start with it on the "mainland" as he will hardly have time to do it on the boat;-)
It will be great fun to follow your adventure at sea.
PS. Also like John Ajvide Lindqvist's books, but haven't read them all. DS.

Helena says:
Haha, it's true! Right now he is bearded and maybe he will continue to be so during the voyage?

Elisabeth says:
It's been a long time since I travelled by train and then it was to Arlanda. There has been so much trouble with the trains that we do not take a chance on the train but take a bus if we are going to an airport. Train trip, was many years ago.

Helena says:
We were out quite early in case there were delays. We were probably about half an hour late.

No electrical outlet on the X2000?
08 August 2019 - 11:42
Helena says:
We found nothing, even though we looked. Not in our carriage anyway!? Do you know if it is usually there?
09 August 2019 - 7:01
Annurs says:
There are electrical outlets at each seat x2000. I think they are located between the chairs. A little half underneath...

OMG! Just like Greta!
She also took the train to the sailing trip and posted a picture of the train on the platform just like you did on departure (although she was standing on the platform in the picture).
