Elmia 2019 - what a party this is and has been! We met lots of nice people at our stand, ran around the exhibition halls, held six lectures and experienced both shrimp fever and Oktoberfest. In addition, three of the couples from the "Beach Basket Challenge" showed up for our lecture on the summer's journey - fantastic fun!

At the Freedomtravel stand
Throughout the fair, we have a stand in the South Lobby. We try to be there as often as possible, but sometimes we have to leave the stand to give a lecture, have lunch or look at the fair. Once we are in the fair, it is fantastic fun! Many people come up and want to talk - either because they follow us or because they want to talk about travel. Either way, it gives a lot of energy!
Iris Müller from the German Tourist Board spent some time with us at the stand. She brought VR glasses so we could try cycling through Germany at high speed. What a feeling!
Lectures
We gave two lectures every day for three days. Even though it has been great fun, it is little nice that it is over now. It has also been very intense! We gave two lectures on the region Zadar in Croatia, two lectures on Estonia and two lectures on The beach basket challenge in northern Germany. A lot of people came to all the lectures - very nice!
When we lectured about the trip in Germany (the last of the lectures), we changed into lederhosen and dirndl, to get some "German feeling". Best of all, three of the couples who participated in the "Beach Basket Challenge" trip showed up. When it was time for us to give a lecture, we had Team Parrot, Team Dreamteam and Team Crossroads as support. Great fun! Team Parrot also got special permission to bring Curre the parrot to the lecture.
Shrimp gluttony
One of the evenings at Elmia Husvagn Husbil there is always a shrimp feast. We went here with Iris from the German Tourist Office and enjoyed shrimp, crayfish, pies and various cheeses. Yummy!
Oktoberfest at Elmia
Another classic at Elmia is Oktoberfest. The festival lasts several days in a row, and this year we managed to party two days in a row. On Friday night it was Oktoberfest with Iris, and on Saturday night it was Oktoberfest with the gang from Strandkorgsutmaningen and some other bloggers. Beer, umpaumpa music and long dancing through the room. Really great atmosphere!

I suspect that tonight you will be completely exhausted! Standing at a fair is, as I have understood it from former colleagues, very hard and I know myself how tired I am when I myself have strolled around for a few hours. One is completely exhausted in the head from all the sounds, not least. And you who have then been to the gluttony and parties in the evenings.

It seems like you had a really successful fair! Nice that you became a group from the Beach Basket Challenge too! We ourselves are travelling around among the beach baskets again. Just today we are taking revenge on Waren that we thought we got to see too little of this spring!
