It's almost autumn and it's time to summarise the summer's travels. If we count the months of June, July and August, we have travelled four times in four countries. Here are some of the highlights!

How has our travelling summer been?
To summarise, we have to say that our 2019 travel summer has been fantastic. We have done a group motorhome trip, a solo motorhome trip, a sailing trip and a flight. How do you summarise this? It's completely hopeless really. We'll try to highlight some highlights from each trip (but even that was difficult!).
Beach Basket Challenge in Northern Germany (May/June)
Seven motorhome teams discovering the North German coast together and competing against each other in various challenges - it can only be a crazy trip. It was also fun, really fun! (Even though everyone probably needed to rest a bit afterwards).
- Coolest city: Wismar
- Cosiest city: Goods
- Most beautiful nature experience: Treetop walk on the island of Rügen
- Most fun activity: Canoeing in the Mecklenburg Lakes
- Most local food experience: Matjes fillet or 'sauerfleisch' in Schleswig-Holstein
Zadar region in Croatia (June)
We would have liked to have had a little more time in and around Zadar, but oh so nice! And there are even more national parks in the area. Maybe we have to go back?
- Coolest city: Zadar
- Cosiest city: Nin
- Most beautiful nature experience: Paklenica National Park
- Most fun activity: Sunbathing and swimming on Pag Island
- Most local food experience: Paški sir - the cheese from the island of Pag
Around Estonia by motorhome (July)
The campervan trip in Estonia was fantastic! The freedom of travelling on your own in a motorhome beats most things, and also Estonia turned out to be a great country for camping.
- Coolest city: Tartu
- Cosiest city: Haapsalu
- Most beautiful nature experience: Kynö
- Most fun activity: Swimming at Rummu quarry
- Most local food experience: Smoked fish at Lake Peipus
Sailing holiday in Poland and Germany (August)
A total of 28 sailboats on a week-long sailing trip in Germany and Poland. What a trip! Sailing from destination to destination, combined with activities on land, was a new experience for us.
- Coolest city: Szczecin
- Cosiest city: Greifswald
- Most beautiful nature experience: Cycling on the island of Usedom
- Most fun activity: Sailing in gales on the Baltic Sea
- Most local food experience: Deep-fried paztecik in Szczecin
What will the autumn travel season be like?
Peter has already started the autumn travel season with a trip to Switzerlandwhere he actually is right now. What comes next is the fair Scandinavian Caravan Show and an exciting trip to Egypt. Then we will see ...
How has your travelling summer been? Do you have any travel plans for the autumn?
Hasse says:
Right now on Otok Murter in Croatia, with NP Kornati in the skyline. Not bad at all, we'll probably keep that view for the winter.

Helena says:
Oh that sounds lovely! We would like to visit Kornati! 🙂

Lovely summer it seems! I have been mostly in Sweden except for a few days in Paris. But otherwise hang on the west coast. But the big trip is coming soon... 🙂

But how exciting Daniel, what kind of trip is it?

Great reading! And summarising the summer is also a good way to evaluate it. You have had a varied summer with both work trips and more private ones. And I have kept up with you via blog and Instagram.
I have chosen to spend the summer mostly in Sweden with a lot of fun and interesting travel jobs. Will be more of this in the autumn.
Both preparation and follow-up work make the journeys feel longer than they are in reality, which also has its advantages. Bohuslän, the Hjälmare Canal, Dalhalla, the High Coast and a fantastic trip in Insöfinland, towards the Russian border. In terms of private travel, Åland has of course been visited a few times and Gotland. In May also Copenhagen.
We have also spent time in the Stockholm archipelago, which we like. Then we have in fresh memory the trip in February in southern Chile and Argentina where we rounded Cape Horn. A fantastic trip.
Now there will be some work trips during the autumn, great fun and some other travel as well. So neither autumn nor winter will be monotonous. new trip already on Friday. and now down in Europe. Then there is always the Spanish summer cottage waiting for us when we have time and desire.
Wishing you a pleasant autumn of travel!

I agree that summarising is also a good way to evaluate! In any case, a good way to process and structure the memories 😉 You have really made interesting trips in Sweden (and Finland!) lately. Not to mention the trip to Chile and Argentina of course!!!

What a varied and fun travelling summer you had. We are not complaining either, after the Beach Basket Challenge we have been in Sweden where we have had several long weekends in e.g. Skåne, on the west coast and at Lake Vänern before a slightly longer trip to e.g. Bergslagen, as preparation for six weeks south where we left San Sebastian today.
The highlight of the autumn will probably be Jordan, one of the destinations on our wish list.
Egypt sounds exciting!

Helena says:
Great fun to travel together on the Beach Basket Challenge!!! Jordan sounds fantastically exciting, I look forward to reading about it!

What a wonderful travel summer you have had and a lot of fun going on yet - fun! 🙂
Must think... The travel summer has taken us around Spain and also to Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Greenland and the USA. Finally "free" to travel again without having to be within walking distance to the hospital 🙂.
04 September 2019 - 17:23
Helena says:
Wow, what trips you have made! Sooo nice that you are finally "free"!!! Greenland I am a little jealous of! 😉

You have really had some great adventures this summer. Great fun! It will be fun to read Peter's stories from Switzerland. Wondering where he has ended up. Waiting impatiently;-)
04 September 2019 - 20:53
Helena says:
Yes, indeed! And report on Switzerland to come! (I've heard about tough hiking in thin air!)

You have had so much fun and variety this summer. Not least the beach basket challenge. This summer we travelled around the Baltic Sea in two months and 6006 km. Really a nice trip that we will remember for a long time. Like you, I think cycling on Usedom is fantastic. A lot of people only when we were there.
This autumn will see the return of la Gomera, my favourite little island off Tenerife. For two whole weeks I will stay there and enjoy the mountains and the sea, but without a motorhome.
In November we start our winter trip down to the Algarve to avoid the winter here at home.

Funniest - "sailing in a gale"?!?!!? It would NOT have been in my blog post 🙂
Yes, gosh, what a lot of wonderful things you have done, and it's so much fun to join in on a corner! Even though I have a certain backlog nowadays.
