Now we are on site in Jönköping and ready for Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2019. It was a challenge to be ready in time and to get the motorhome in the right condition, but now we are in place!

Hectic travel schedule
After all preparations before Elmia, it was finally time to leave. It was hectic to say the least before the trip yesterday. Peter drove around to different tourist offices to pick up brochures while I (Helena) prepared our lectures.
Since we didn't have time to buy a new LPG hose, Peter first tried to replace the old one, but it turned out that it was leaking. Then he went on one of all the tips we got from you readers (thank you very much!!!) and drove to Gasolfyllarna in Järfälla, where he found a new hose. Then it was "just" to load all the boxes into the motorhome, buy food, fill up with water and leave ...
What about the motorhome?
Great to finally be on the road with FREEDOM again after all the repairs and fixing, but how did it actually go? To make the clutch work, we had to replace the entire clutch and cylinder, which made us 18,000 kronor poorer. This price was thus added on top of everything else which we had already paid before. It's hard, but we had to get the coupling fixed.
When we stopped, it also turned out that the water taps were probably frozen. Both the tap in the kitchen and the tap in the bathroom are leaking ... Another thing to fix!
Uninvited guests in the motorhome
Another surprise is that we had (or have!) mice in the motorhome. At the beginning of August, I took all the plates, glasses and cutlery from the camper to the houseboat and put everything in the dishwasher to make it really fresh. Then the blue basket below was whole, and now it is ... eaten. One of the glasses has even been chewed on.
So now the question is, how do you get rid of mice? Peter wants to put in a mouse trap, but I (Helena) like cute little animals and want a more ... "humane" method to get rid of the uninvited guests. Is it possible? Tip, tip!
Packing up at Elmia
We arrived at Elmia in the evening and got to work immediately. We had so a lot of brochures with us (this is the second carriage!), and everything had to get to the stand. Dinner was only at 22 o'clock ...
Our stand
Our stand is located in Lobby South. Please come and meet us there! At our stand you can:
- Have a chat with us (if we are not lecturing or having lunch of course).
- Get nice brochures (free!) on Estonia, Germany or the Czech Republic
- Eating sweets
- And more (which may mean slightly different things on different days of the fair).
You won't want to miss this, we hope?
Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
Helena a small mouse is not something to be spared. But golden onions are a tip. Oh, there were expenses you can do without, but now you have a new connection.
Saw the car this morning!

Helena says:
Good to see you! I don't want to keep the mouse either. But if I'm going to kill it, I want it to be quick and painless ... like ... Thanks for the tip about the onion!

So much trouble with the motorhome, but luckily you got away!
Mice are no fun to get in the car at all, we're fine???
Enjoy your stay at Elmia.....

Helena says:
Yes, it is a lot of misery. Some people have asked why we haven't used our own campervan on recent trips, and this is a big part of the explanation ...

It's great to finally reach a second milestone for you.
Once it starts to struggle, it feels like it never ends, boring costs but oh how nice FREEDOM is when everything is finished.
I have avoided small mice, at least so far, so I have no real tips. What I do know is that my owners put out juniper at the deck and the grey water outlet and some in boxes as well. This is done when the car is parked in the winter.
Tonight I'll be heading up to Elmia so it will be a mini holiday for me and the owners.
Good luck with all your endeavours at Elmia!

Helena says:
Yes, it is boring with all the hassle. But in the end it will be good, we hope! Thanks for the tip about enris! (Although right now we are afraid that it is still inside the car so in that case we have to get it out first ?)

Anja says:
When our cats bring in mice, we usually just put a rubber boot on the floor in a suitable place. It doesn't take long for the mouse to crawl in there and then just let it out into the open?
11 September 2019 - 8:32
Helena says:
Haha, amazing that it works with the rubber boot! This mouse hides well in drawers and nooks and crannies under the car ...

Solan says:
Do the rubber boot trick at Elmia. ?? Then the halls will be busy.
Good luck with the job, we say from Gotland ?

Gah, cars that need to be repaired ... It rarely gets cheap. Keep your fingers crossed that you have encountered the last setback now and that freedom soon rolls stably again.
Have fun at Elmia, sounds like a great fair! We have worked a lot to spread the word, me and Annika, but will not be in place. Looking forward to reports from you!

Mouse visits, not fun Have a phobia of them, so I agree with Peter this time.
Good luck at Elmia!

Have a great time at Elmia!
Many greetings from us on the hiking trail.

Good luck at the fair . We don't plan to go there this year, it doesn't fit in the time. Hope you get the mouse dead or alive. Can be more than one but we hope it is not because then they can be many.

It was expensive, but it doesn't affect the poor, I usually say. A mouse as involuntary company inside the motorhome is not a thought I even want to immerse myself in. Oh what a strange taste this mouse has - a plastic basket... Just get the mousetrap out.

Maria/ Magnolia Magis says:
Cunt! Ugh!!! Yes they are cute, better than rats... But I don't like mice inside! Had them in the old house and now they want to get into the awning. Mouse traps will be here even though I don't like it either ... In Stenkällegården we had a mouse we named Hugo. The husband carried it away far into the forest, but damn it, it came back! Then we started with traps instead.
How nice that you are in place and that the car was rolling! Have a good time!
