Let's do the Autumn List 2019! What is our relationship with autumn, what are our autumn plans and what are our best tips for autumn excursions? Feel free to join in and write an autumn list yourself - in the comments section or on your own blog!

Our autumn list 2019
It has almost become a tradition to write an autumn list here on the blog. In 2017 we wrote FREEDOMtravel's autumn list and in 2018 we wrote Big November list. This year we have been inspired by autumn lists on the blogs Come Fly With Me and Travel Friday. We've borrowed the headlines almost verbatim and written our own version.
Our relationship with autumn?
Beautiful autumn days can be super beautiful! When it rains all the time, it is of course little more boring ...
Three favourite things about autumn?
- All the beautiful autumn colours
- Time of the shellfish
- Good opportunity to get into training and routines
What are our autumn plans?
Peter goes to Northern Ireland in time for Halloween to experience the festive season where it originates. In November there will be cruise!
How do we prefer to decorate in autumn?
At home in the houseboat with a cosy fire in the fireplace! Of course, it can also be very cosy to experience autumn in a motorhome.
How do we deal with cold and darkness?
Lots of thick clothes so you don't get cold!
Best drink in autumn?
Right now we're drinking bubbly water that's almost coming out of our ears. Since we started training and trying more healthy habits, it's mostly water right now.
Best food in autumn?
A big favourite in autumn is crab. Of course, there's nothing wrong with hearty stews and chanterelles.
What are we looking at?
We like to watch a good series every now and then, but it's been a long time since we've done so (just sitting at our computers). Do you have any tips?
What do we read?
Blogs and travel reports ... On the flight to and from Egypt, I (Helena) also read "Vera" by Anne Swärd. Really good!
Three autumn pieces in your wardrobe?
Boots, windproof jacket and rain poncho.
Tips for trips in the autumn?
Autumn is a great time to look around the capital, isn't it? Here are some great museums to visit on a chilly autumn weekend in Stockholm:
- ABBA Museum
- Hallwylska Palace
- Mediterranean Museum
- Museum of the Middle Ages
- National Museum
- Liquor Museum
- Tidö Collection of Toys & Comics
- Vasa Museum
- Viking life
What do we miss most when summer becomes autumn?
Maybe the light? I (Helena) am not really bothered by the darkness, but several walking paths around us are a bit dimly lit, and it's boring.
When will the first snow arrive?
We have already seen a lot of pictures of snow from other parts of Sweden, but here in Stockholm it still feels quite distant. I find (unfortunately) that the winters are getting shorter and shorter here, and I think it's going to take ...

I love lists! And this year, autumn actually feels a little extra lovable too. Nice to read, and thanks for the link.
(A bit jealous of Peter who gets to go to the "cradle" of Halloween during this time of year, it's supposed to be magical!)

Lists are fun! 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration! And yes, I'm also a bit jealous of Peter 😉.

Yes, the best thing about autumn is definitely the shellfish. Okay then, this greyish week the colour palette in the courtyard was the only bright spot. Otherwise, I'm not an autumn and winter person, mostly because the days are so short and it gets dark so early.
The first picture is fantastic by the way.

Fun list! But right now I'm having a hard time with the autumn feelings because we just had the spring equinox 😉.
Enjoy the beautiful autumn colours!

Lovely list. Yes, it is important to find the positive, I feel. I belong to those who are affected by the darkness. But it is of course a very beautiful time and it is sooo cosy with light. So there are some positives, I must admit.
