We managed to stay at two good hotels in Sharm el Sheikh, in two different price ranges. The first had a spa and nice pools on the roof, and the second was a magically beautiful 5-star hotel. Do you have any other tips for hotels in the area? What kind of hotels do you like?

Many hotels in Sharm el Sheikh
There's really no end to the number of hotels in Sharm el Sheikh - ranging from 5-star all inclusive hotels with everything you can think of to hotels that are much smaller and simpler. We managed to try two different hotels during our trip to Sharm el Sheikh. We really enjoyed both, although the second of course stands out as the most fantastic and luxurious.
Il Mercato Hotel & Spa - 4 stars
Most of our time in Sharm el Sheikh we stayed at the 4-star hotel Il Mercato Hotel & Spa. This is a large and nice hotel, and around it there is a large hotel area with everything from shops to McDonalds. What made us particularly happy here was that the staff were very friendly and helpful, and always had time for a joke or two.
Our room was excellent with comfortable beds and a balcony overlooking the pool. There is WiFi, but it worked poorly so we went and bought Egyptian sim cards at Vodafone, which is right next to the hotel.
The pools surprised us, as we kept discovering more. There is a swimming pool both on the ground floor and on the top floor. There is also a large spa pool. However, the hotel is not located next to a beach, but if you want to swim in the sea, the hotel offers a daily bus service to four different locations. beaches in Sharm el Sheikh.
Spa department is really nice with a big pool, gym, hairdresser, sauna, jacuzzi and various treatments like massage or hammam.
The restaurants of the hotel is first and foremost the main restaurant Il Giardino. It serves large buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the roof there is an Italian restaurant and there are also a few different bars.
Hyatt Regency - 5 stars
On the last day of the trip, we tested another hotel in Sharm el Sheikh, namely the 5-star hotel Hyatt Regency. This is an absolutely fantastic hotel, if you want to prioritise a slightly more luxurious accommodation. Here you have access to a nice beach, good opportunities for snorkelling, incredibly beautiful pools and several different restaurants. You can easily spend several days here, without even leaving the hotel area.
Our room was on the ground floor with a view of the sea. How nice we had it there? Here we had a comfortable bed, fresh bathroom and good shower. There was WiFi, but we did not really have time to test how it worked because we had already bought local sim cards (and they worked really well!).
The pools at the Hyatt Regency are... amazing! We actually prefer swimming in the ocean to swimming in pools, but the pool area here is a dream and you want to spend some time here just because it's so beautiful.
Beaches is very nice even though the bottom can be a bit rocky. If you want, you can wear swimming shoes. Snorkelling is also very nice here. You can rent equipment right on the beach. Peter snorkelled here and saw almost even more fish than when we were out on the snorkelling boat.
The restaurants at the Hyatt Regency are several in number. Firstly, there is a large buffet restaurant. Then there is a Thai restaurant with an award-winning chef and a food court concept called "Souk". Here you start with a wallet containing a certain number of silver coins and can then shop in the various small restaurants. Meanwhile, you are entertained by belly dancing or folk dancing.

Hyatt Regency is really nice. Was here on a diving and snorkelling trip for 10 days so the hotel was a very good choice. Perfect location by the sea as well... And as a single woman I felt safe within the hotel.

What a luxury! Like you, I also prefer the sea, but they are different experiences. Then an empty pool can be preferable to a crowded beach (as it is here in the summer).
You seem to have had a good stay!

Since I am not so fond of sand between my toes and belly dancing, I would probably have enjoyed Mercato more. But waking up to the "song" of the waves every morning is wonderful too.
