Advent calendar supports school children around the world
You may recall that last summer we visited a Summer camp for poor children in Latviawhich is funded by the New Hope Children's Fund? Before Christmas, New Hope sells advent calendars. A calendar costs SEK 100 and provides school meals to a child somewhere in the world for a month or a pair of school shoes to a child in India or Kenya. If you want to buy an advent calendar, you can do so at newhope.se.

Emma, sun like sun? says:
What is not shown in the statistics is the age of the participants.
I don't need to have all the functions of a mobile phone all the time, but it feels like the phone/WhatsApp and the ability to find information on the spot is something I would like to have access to.
By the way, how have you been doing with your thoughts (plans?) about not working every day?

Helena says:
I think it was mixed age (adults) if I remember correctly. I wouldn't want to be without social media. I have never used Whats app (not much used in Sweden.) And thanks for the question! We will probably work every day, but we are still thinking about a week's holiday!

I could definitely go on a mobile-free holiday, but never without my computer. Haha! It has all the functions including telephony and a keyboard that I can hit the keys on 😀.
Have a great start to the week!

I can safely say that I absolutely cannot and will not give up a mobile-free holiday. All social media, except the blog of course, I can do without. On the other hand, I would like to have access to a phone.
Missing Munich's Christmas market from the list...
Talk about comparing apples with pears, I mean train journeys with scooters;-)

Jossus Travelpics says:
Well, I don't want to be completely mobile-free. I use it to take pictures and then I spend some time getting some of the pictures over to some good place, so I am not completely without in case I should happen to a pickpocket or be clumsy and forget the mobile phone somewhere.
Then I think Youtube is a nice way to pass the time, whether it's at the airport or in the hotel bed waiting for the breakfast buffet to open.
But I try to avoid social media,

Maybe not a mobile-free holiday, but more mobile-free moments?
I have just booked Lubeck with a Christmas market so I am looking forward to that. /P

Wow, holidays without the phone... well, that would definitely be difficult! Even though I don't spend a lot of time on the phone, I still want to share a little from time to time. Or search for information.
