What is most popular to read on FREEDOMtravel? Sometimes it's interesting to look at statistics. Last week we found out which photos are most liked on our Instagram account, and now we can show you what's most popular on the blog.
Table of contents
Most popular in 2019
We came to the conclusion that what is absolutely most popular on our Instagram account are pictures of motorhomes. Now we have also reviewed the statistics for our blog FREEDOMtravel, to see which blog posts are the most popular. We have used the Google Analytics statistics tool and show the statistics for 2019.
Most popular blog posts
Of the 10 most popular posts on our blog, four are about motorhomes and one about car holidays. By far the most popular is a report on campervans, which has had over 19,000 page views this year. Otherwise, posts about different destinations in Europe are the most read. For example, many Swedes have clicked on our reports about Riga and the nude town of Cap d'Agde in France.
- 12 lorries and a small motorhome
- Checklist for car holidays - driving in Europe
- Europe's largest countries
- Sights of Riga - 9 things to do in Riga
- Cap d'Agde - largest nude town in France
- Holidays on Brac in Croatia - tips for the island of Brac
- Travelling with a motorhome in Poland
- Cool mini caravans and motorhomes at Caravan in Helsinki
- 13 things to see and do in Bruges, Belgium
- Inspection and major servicing of motorhomes
Most popular pages on countries
We don't just write blog posts. In the menu you can also find "travel destinations", and underneath there are all the countries we've visited. Peter adds lots of interesting and fun information there - and of course you'll find links to all our blog posts! The most visited country page on our blog this year is "Poland", with over 8500 page views in 2019.
Most popular pages on caravan and camping sites
We also have pages on the blog where we list pitches and campsites. These pages can be found under "Pitches" in the menu. Under each country we list the sites and campsites we have visited ourselves - from north to south, with maps, information and often a link to the current blog post. The most popular site is about Germany and has had over 8500 page views during the year.
- Germany - pitches and campsites
- Poland - pitches and campsites
- Croatia - pitches and campsites
- Italy - pitches and campsites
- France - pitches and campsites
Expected or surprising statistics?
The statistics on what is most popular on FREEDOMtravel are probably mostly expected. We know that posts about motorhomes and European destinations are popular. Then again, we might not have expected the post about the nude city in France to be so high on the list... What are your favourite things to read on our blog?

Love posts like this, fun to read! My favourite thing to read on your blog is reports from your motorhome trips around Europe - inspiring in every way.

But you know, nakedness sells! So it's probably not surprising that it was included, it's all about putting a good headline that attracts people. I guess you succeeded. Or however you want to look at it, they were probably looking for something else, but that one piqued their curiosity.
Yes, it is interesting to see the numbers sometimes. On Blogger you can see what keywords people have had before they clicked through to your blog. It's a bit ... interesting.
05 November 2019 - 9:14
Helena says:
Yes, that's right, naked sells 😉 Keywords are also fun to look at, I agree!

It's great that you share your statistics. With me, it is different posts that are most popular, and most read. Most read are always older posts that Google has picked up. For example, I have one about jellyfish on the Riviera that always gets a lot of readers when jellyfish blow in (the search pressure gives me an indication of how severe the plague is - much like epidemiologists study how many people search for the flu.
Now, jellyfish are not exactly a fun topic. The texts most appreciated by hardcore fans are the long ones with lots of research and history.
Greetings Kristina

Helena says:
Yes, it is easy to see that things that work well on Google are the most read. Can understand that such a post about jellyfish works well! And it is interesting to see how it depends on the season. It's a bit like that with us too. Some travel destinations are mostly in the summer and vice versa.
05 November 2019 - 15:39
Kristina says:
Yes, I have one about how to measure your ski span. It is also seasonal :-).

So much fun to read! I understand that the checklist for car holidays is at the top, but otherwise a rather unexpected result, I think. Extra fun to see. I also usually make compilations for fun of the most read posts in my blog, and it has also been surprising. You might think that posts that give many comments also have many readers, but that's certainly not the case with me. Will click around and see what you recommend for travel destinations for the end of the year. Soon freezing to death here at home in Sweden and want to get warm.

How interesting! I saw that recipes seem popular with you! 🙂 Comments and views are probably not always connected. We often get a lot of comments on more personal posts. But then other more "googleable" can be more read ...

Ditte says:
Nice summary of popular posts. And Google Anatytics is very good because you find out so much "more" than numbers. I check in with you almost every day, but since we don't have a motorhome or camp or go on a car holiday, I don't read those posts so closely. But I do like to read about different places and countries and about ordinary life in the city.
Personally, I look at Mr Google Analytics about every two months and it varies a lot. But that the readership has increased is very fun. Often it is different posts about travelling both in Sweden and abroad that attract people. Also posts about Stockholm and different environments there attract many.

Helena says:
It's fun to look at the statistics sometimes! Can understand that posts about Stockholm are popular!

If you are a statistics nerd, you are. I read virtually all your posts and often comment. My thing is probably your travel reports where I am so happy to free ride. Since we don't have a motorhome, just ploughing is less interesting for me, but it's always fun anyway to follow the trends.
PS. Emma and I have the same blogging platform. As I'm totally uninterested in statistics, I didn't even know that you could see the search terms - oooops.

Lena - good for the soul says:
I like the mix of everything. If I had to choose one focus, it would be your useful posts about different destinations, whether you have travelled there by car, train, boat or plane.

How generous of you to share this. I'm not too surprised and it's great that this is the most popular because it's also what you write most about and have the most experience with. I have read all your Malta posts, I enjoyed them very much!
