Travel News Market travel fair

Travel News Market is a trade fair for travel industry professionals, and this year it was organised for the fourth year in a row. When I scrolled back through the blog, I could see that we had actually been there. all times the fair has been organised:

The fair brings together tourist agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, travel journalists, travel bloggers and many others in the industry. The fair is organised by Travel News magazine, which describes itself as Sweden's largest business site for the travel industry.

This year's fair, Travel News Market 2019, was held at the Stockholm Waterfront on Thursday 7 November. When the fair opened its doors in the morning, Peter was immediately on site for a scheduled meeting with the region of Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. He then spent the morning mingling with all the exhibitors. There were conversations with representatives from Slovakia, Belgium, Estonia and many others.

Lecture on the Czech Republic

Between 12-13, the Czech Tourist Board organised a lunch event with a sandwich and speakers, in one of Stockholm Waterfront's conference rooms. We had been asked to talk about our travels and experiences in the Czech Republic. Fun!

We chose to highlight some of our favourite places in both the eastern and western parts of the country. As we were speaking, we didn't have time to think about photos, so the photo below is from the Czech Republic's stand at the fair...

Mingle at the Travel News Market 2019

In the afternoon, more and more people joined us, and we could hardly take a step forward until we met friends and acquaintances from all over the country. Soooo much fun! In the photos below you see, among other things, the happy sisters Magdalena and Pernilla from the travel blog. Travelsis.

Chocolate, beer and wine tastings

During the day, several exhibitors organised chocolate, beer or wine tastings. In the late afternoon, many people gathered around the German Tourist Board, the main sponsor of the fair, to taste German wines.

After party at Casino Cosmopol?

The evening would end with a party at Casino Cosmopol, and everyone who had registered had received a generous offer of a buffet dinner and three drinks for SEK 150. Unfortunately, the tickets ran out in a flash and we who had not been quick enough to press the button were offered to go in later in the evening, if anyone went out. Then we would have to pay SEK 60 and then nothing would be included.

No, that didn't sound appealing... Instead, we went for a beer and some snacks at Cloud Nine on Torsgatan, with Christian from Food and travel blog and Sandra from Lifsresor. After all, it was a really nice end to a fun and rewarding day!
