Happy Friday! This week we have celebrated traditional Swedish Christmas, which for us feels quite untraditional. We have also had several (almost) days off at home in the houseboat, and of course it has been really nice.

Traditional Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve
We don't always celebrate traditionally on Christmas Eve. Rather, it has become a tradition to spend Christmas abroad, without much "celebration".
This year we are home, and on Christmas Eve we were invited to Peter's eldest son Robin and his wife Alexandra, together with Robin's mum and Alexandra's parents and siblings. A wonderful day and evening of talking and laughing, Christmas music, Christmas presents and traditionally Swedish Christmas table.
Almost days off
Otherwise, we are at home and enjoying almost free days. I (Helena) have a few working days, but have been able to work one day from home, and the pace is quite calm.
Of course, we want to take the opportunity to get lots done with the blog (more work "behind the scenes" than what may be visible to the outside world), but at least now we can do it in peace and quiet. We alternate this with training, bike rides with electric bikes, some much-needed wardrobe cleaning, good food and a few TV series. In addition, there will be a few more meetings with family and relatives in the coming days.
Best this week
The best part of this week is that at last have some peace and quiet, and to slowly catch up with everything where we are behind. By the way, I have managed to sleep until nine o'clock some mornings, and that's not too bad. fantastic (usually always wake up at 06:00 sharp otherwise). And of course, it's been great to see family and friends! How are you spending Christmas, and what has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
The coming week we will be home and meet the family and of course, celebrate the new year. On the blog, I thought I would compile some tips from both Budapest and Barcelona. El Gouna in Egypt.
We wish you a happy Christmas and New Year holiday!

We celebrated (as usually nowadays) with a (somewhat) traditional Swedish Christmas table in Spain. Otherwise, the best thing has probably been that Torrevieja has delivered the same fantastic Christmas weather, which is also a bit of a tradition (which I think the city and the weather gods can continue to do).
Thank you very much and you too!

Good continuation! 😀
It's great to have a traditional Christmas celebration! Your Christmas table looked really rich.
I have been in Dalsland with the oldest daughter and the youngest also came, so we were a total of ten people who celebrated Christmas. And a little poodle Molly 😀.
It was the best thing this week! Love, Gerd

Good to hear that you can take it easy!
But you know, the cheddar cheese in your picture made me drool! I miss a really good cheddar. Oh, now I got hungry!
The pickled herring was super tasty and oh how good it is on hard bread. The Swedish shop in Fuengirola and Ikea came to our aid for this. And the ham of course. Otherwise we are not big customers with them.

It really was an old, honest and traditional Swedish Christmas table. It's great that "young" people like Robin and Alexandra want to continue the tradition.
Nice to hear that for once you managed to take it easy, by your standards that is. Have a feeling that you need it!
Keep it up, you have a few more days to go:-)
