Happy Friday! This week we had a Christmas party at TUI, and we also had time to work a lot on the blog - at least Peter did. Less fun is that we have problems with the air heating pump, but we are happy that we had a nice trip to Egypt and that we will soon have "Christmas peace". What has been the best part of your week?

Christmas dinner at TUI
On Monday, just after we returned from Egypt, we were invited to a Christmas mingle with the Swedish Association of Tourist Journalists. The mingle was organised by the tourism group TUI, who told us about their activities. We learned, among other things, that they will soon start with charters to beautiful destinations. Zanzibar. We were there many years ago. Very nice! Have you been there?
Jobs and blogs
Since returning from Egypt, we have both been working. I (Helena) am working on two different projects at work (mainly the this if you're curious) and Peter work on the blog - with accounts, collaborations, editing film and updating our country/region pages.
Our country pages
At the top of the menu (under 'Destinations') we have our country (and sometimes region or island) pages. Here we have collected all the destinations we have visited - from north to south, with links to the blog posts. Peter also updates the pages with information on food, drink, travelling, our bucket list and much more. It takes him about two months to complete a page, and the following pages have been completed so far. Another 13 are in the works. Feel free to take a look!
Christmas decorations on the blog
A few days ago we wrote our Big Christmas List 2019, and then we recognised that we are pretty (very!) bad at Christmas decorations. Then I realised that we actually do decorate for Christmas. little Nevertheless. We have decorated the blog with lots of Christmas posts.
I find traditions and things like that exciting, so I've done a lot of research into Christmas food traditions, odd Christmas traditions around the world and more. Click on the heading "FREEDOMtravel" to get to the home page - and scroll down!
Best this week
Well, what has been the best part of this week? It has not been good that our air heat pump has broken (do not want to think about what a new one costs), but we must try to rejoice that we can sleep together in the sofa bed on the upper deck - where it is warm. We are also looking forward to the trip to Egypt, and that it will soon be Christmas peace (we hope)!
The week ahead
It's getting close to Christmas, as they say, and we're looking forward to some time off. Even if I don't take a holiday, there are plenty of days off. We will rest, exercise, work on the blog and see family. I have lots of ideas on posts that I want to write, so I'm looking forward to that!

There's a lot of Christmas everywhere now, but I'm pretty cold before Christmas. The best thing about Christmas is the so-called Christmas peace!
Fun with a little mingle and blog job. It is a mek if you want to be on top and it is you!
Have fun!
PS. Hope it's easy and smooth with the air source heat pump!

Yes, a blog can be a lot of work! Thanks, regarding the air source heat pump, unfortunately it seems that buying new is the only solution ...

I have not been to Zanzibar, but would absolutely not mind going there - on the contrary! But charter from Sweden is not the best way for us, I think.
Peter looks a bit exhausted there at the computer, so he should probably take a blog holiday on one of the days off anyway 🙂 .
The best part of the week was the positive results from the CT scan I did last week. Or maybe the results were negative? Strange that negative test results are positive... Oh well. It looked good in there anyway and it was very gratifying 🙂.

Haha, no you can probably choose another route to Zanzibar! 😉 Very nice to hear that you got good test results!!! (Do not dare write positive or negative, because it feels like you write wrong no matter how you write ... ;))

The best thing about Christmas is seeing family. Now we have the oldest daughter in Skåne again. On Sunday we heat the motorhome for Christmas and New Year.

Isn't it nice to have some holidays off? Here we will spend some time at the computer and try to fix photo books from our last trips.
We think Peter does a great job with your destination pages.
The best part of the week is that we managed to stop our approaching colds.

It was really unlucky with the air source heat pump because they are usually not very cheap. We changed ours a few years ago and we had no choice.
I have not been to Zanzibar but our eldest daughter and her husband were there on their honeymoon. They were very happy with the destination.

Full speed ahead for you, but minus for the heat pump! But everything will work out.
The best thing this week so far is the wonderful homemade Christmas table at the local farm in the small village of Rackeby outside Lidköping. Christmas tables can be as enormous as you like, but the important thing is that every part is fresh, and it really was here.
Today I was at a Christmas coffee with a former neighbour, soon to be 88 years old, where I sniffed Christmas mulled wine, Christmas decorations and took a Christmas hug 😀.
Gratitude hugs and Merry Christmas! /Gerd

The header image is a highlight! Imagine how useful a dressing gown can be:-))))
You are very ambitious with your blog, but "don't overdo it". There is so much information that I understand that it takes two months to make one page per country.
I hope you can still try to do exactly nothing one day during your holiday. It's not that bad at all, believe me;-)
What an interesting project you are doing Helena!
PS. No luck with the air source heat pump, sigh. Not a fun Christmas present... DS.
