Here we are, the day before Christmas Eve! Are you busy preparing for the festive season or are you feeling calm? Even though it's almost Christmas, we take the opportunity to share some travel news from this week's crop of press releases.

Swedes dream of sleeping lying down on aeroplanes
When Swedes are asked to dream about what additional services they would like to have on board, more than half choose to be able to sleep lying down on board. This is according to a new Sifo survey conducted on behalf of Emirates. These are the additional services Swedes dream of:
- Sleeping on board (56 %)
- Eating delicious food from around the world (25 %)
- Access to luxury lounges throughout the airport (19 %)
- Have my own private suite on board (18 %)
- A private driver driving to the airport (12 %)
Ving launches combination holidays with flights, trains and hotels
Ving is now launching the opportunity to fly into a city on your own and then travel through the country by train with a rail pass, a so-called "One country pass" and stay at selected hotels and then fly home from another city. The combination tours are first launched in six selected areas/countries: Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
Norwegian makes sustainable products from its uniforms
In 2020, Norwegian is replacing its uniforms, and to make use of the old uniforms they are now working with the social enterprise. Sisters in Business which provides jobs for migrant women through local textile production. Initially there is a chequered toiletry bag and a silk bag. All profits from the sale go to UNICEF's work for vulnerable children.
The travel destinations that attracted the most Swedes in 2019
The hotel and travel search site momondo has reviewed search data from 2019 to summarise which destinations attracted Swedish travellers the most during the year. Here are the most popular cities:

Momondo has also analysed which countries increased the most in popularity over the year, with Uzbekistan leading the league. "There has been a simplification of the visa process when it comes to travelling to Uzbekistan, which may explain why there is a greater interest for Swedes to travel there," says Lasse Skole Hansen, spokesperson for momondo. The countries that have increased most in popularity (increase in brackets):
- Uzbekistan (49 %)
- Ethiopia (47 %)
- Costa Rica (46 %)
- Japan (33 %)
- Cape Verde (33 %)
Swedes want to spend Christmas and New Year in the heat
According to a new survey by sun travel expert eBeach.se, 75 per cent want to spend Christmas and New Year abroad in a warm and sunny destination, which is significantly more than the 47 per cent who gave the same answer three years ago. Here are the reasons why people want to spend Christmas abroad:
- Change of scenery and get away from everyday life (43 %)
- Experience sun and beach in another country (43 %)
- Avoiding Christmas stress (34 %)
- Experiencing another culture and looking around (30 %)
- Experiencing food and drink in another country (27 %)

Can NOT imagine celebrating Christmas anywhere else than here in Sweden. I love December and Christmas. Christmas crafts, Christmas baking, snow when it gets, lights and lanterns, good film and book..... No, I like it best here, where I can smell the gingerbread....

A One country pass, seems to be a good alternative to the car. Imagine sleeping so nicely on the plane, I wouldn't mind that.
