We were in Florida and the Bahamas last year in February and there it was at least 25 degrees all the time and very nice and comfortable so that is a tip too. This year we have no opportunity to travel away in February otherwise I would love to go to any of the places you list.

Haha, I first thought what on earth? It is NOT warm here in February! But then I saw that you had divided it further.
It's true that the shade is cold and rough while the sun is warm and nice, you feel your whole body relax when you find a spot in the sun in the lee. It is only then that you realise how much you walk around and tense up! Can say that at the time of writing it is barely 10 degrees outside, it is maybe 18 here in my office (which is extra cold because it faces north), I have Uggs on me inside, velour pants and on the upper body long-sleeved cotton sweater, velour jacket and a fleece jacket. And a big scarf around my neck. It's Spanish winter inside, if you don't have AC. If the sun decides to shine a little later, I can go out and warm up. 😀

I know what you mean about it being cold inside. In southern Europe it often is, and then it feels really cold all the time ... When we came to southern Europe with a motorhome in the winter, it felt a little different. We had warmth inside the motorhome, and went out and enjoyed those hours in the afternoon when it was warm in the sun 🙂 But of course it is not very hot 😉.

Emma, sun like sun? says:
Yes, if you want some warmth in February, I would not recommend renting an apartment or a house here in any case. It's a cold you don't understand until you experience it. If there are radiators or AC, you must check carefully who is responsible for that cost because electricity is extremely expensive, more than Sweden.
If you go out and move around, experience cities and places, it is of course different, but to sit still at a computer ... Today I put on a poncho also on top of everything else, the sun does not really want to look through.

When I worked in Malta in 2014/2015, January and February were the worst months. Rainy and cold. They have no central heating in the houses, so they start moulding. I would not recommend Malta in February. March is like that. From April to October you can enjoy the island. When it comes to hiking, don't expect too much, Malta has no forest. South America would be my choice for a warm February + Carnival in Rio.

Thank you for your comment and point of view, valuable! It is often cold indoors in southern Europe in winter, so I understand what you mean. When we've been in southern Europe in the winter (Spain and Portugal) we've stayed in a campervan and then it's warm inside 😉.

We became very fond of Gambia when we were there in November, thinking about a return visit in February / March when it will still be around 34gr.

I would definitely choose Gran Canaria or once again the Costa Blanca, subject to what Emma said. Indoors it is never really hot, but in the sun and in the shelter it can be 25 degrees.

It is true that many people are cold indoors in southern Europe during the winter, and then everything feels colder.

What a great idea to suggest destinations based on the degree of heat! Great!
There were so many good tips here.
My top tip for warmth in February is Malaysia. Of course, you have to adapt the trip based on where there is monsoon rain. But we were in Kuala Lumpur and then George Town and Pangkor Laut Resort in February. Wonderful!
(I have many posts about Malaysia on the blog but you already know that.) 😉.

Oh how I long for sun and warmth! This autumn and winter has not been fun!
Many states in the US have pretty nice heat in February too. Florida and California, for example, are popular travel destinations.
