This week has brought a nice visit from campervan friends, beaver tracking in the neighbourhood, lots of storms and exciting travel planning. Happy Friday to all our readers and friends!

Nice visit to the houseboat
Last weekend, we were visited by Lars and Britt-Marie, who blog at bm.lars.travelblog and who we got to know during the 'Beach Basket Challenge' - last summer's motorhome trip in northern Germany. They made a visit to Stockholm and treated us to a little visit in the boat. It was a nice chat and then a joint walk into town. Sooo nice and fun!
Thunderstorms
When we came back from the walk, the wind had picked up considerably. The waves went straight over the piers and I (Helena) got soaked up to my knees by a wave when we were walking home. It's hard to capture in pictures, but we had a maximum of 22 seconds in the villages, so it was really windy.
It has been windy and stormy all week, and during a gust of wind, a painting blew down from one wall and broke. But it was only a gadget that broke, so it's not the end of the world. Happy Friday!
Travel planning
We can also tell you that we have travel planning underway. In the middle of March we travel to Tunisiaand it will be really exciting! We'll tell you more about it soon. Have you been there? Please tell us!
We (or rather, Peter) are also in the process of planning the summer campervan trip. He researches exciting places in Europe and has a dialogue with several tourist agencies. Among other things, it is clear that we will discover a lot of new places in the Czech Republic, where we have not been before. We look forward to that!
Best this week
The best part of this week is probably last weekend, with both a nice visit to the houseboat and exciting beaver tracking in the neighbourhood. You don't always have to go so far to have an adventure! What has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
Over the next week, more and more will become clear about our trips, so it will be really exciting. And of course we will keep you informed!
I end with my first attempt to take a selfie with the new phone. I recognise that I may need some practicebut I'll give you a first try, haha!

In Tunisia (Sousse) I met Manfred my husband. The year was 1972. We fell madly in love during the week we spent together there. He returned to Germany and I returned to Sweden. There were many letters (there were no mobile phones and calling was expensive). To make a long story short, we got married in 1974 and I moved to Kiel where my darling was a marine. There were just over seven years in Germany and a daughter. Then our little family moved to Skövde. This can happen when you go to Tunisia. We have been there once more, but the first time was the absolute best and most memorable. In 1972 Tunisia was a fairly new destination and everything was so new and different, and we were so young.
Best thing this week has been the weather sun and around 20+ here in the Algarve. Had a dip in the sea yesterday actually.

A very successful first attempt Helena. Nice framing of the face and a glimpse of your home in the background. No mountain view then.
It will be exciting to see where you are heading and what experiences you have ahead of you. Follow you mentally via the blog which is always well written and with nice pictures. Have a nice weekend without storms.

Thanks Henny, think you need a selfie stick really so you get further away from yourself 😉 Wishing you a nice weekend!

I was in Tunisia with my father and older brother on Christmas holidays in 1973 and don't remember much except that the weather was shit and we played football games most of the day 😀.
Yes! Then I rode a dromedary and the men in the medina were scary, trying to drag me into the shops all the time.
Well, that was about the best tip I could come up with: If the weather is bad, you can play football. Haha! Very useful right? 😉 😀

"Fine visit" in a houseboat was a bit much, but it was nice and our entire visit to Stockholm was really good.
Today is a real "Happy Friday" as I am on my way home after the last working day before our trip to Spain.
Can't wait to hear about Tunisia!
We wish you a nice weekend!

What fun with Tunisia! I have been to Tunisia both as a child in the 80s and 2 times as an adult with my family. The beaches in Hammameth are fantastic!
We have also been to the caves of Matmata (cave dwellings) and Sidi Bou Said (beautiful city with white houses and blue/turquoise gates). Wishing you a nice weekend / Pernilla.

Nice to have a quick visit from blog friends.
It was indeed very windy at the beginning of the week. It has rattled on the neighbours' balconies and a few things have blown down to the ground. Oh, if you have paintings on the wall of a houseboat, it is "just" to screw them on - not nice but rare;)
Tunisia needs a tourism boost and all the help it can get after the 2015 attack in Sousse.
Your selfie was really cute. You do look a little terrified, but there's nothing wrong with the framing;-)

Always nice to have a blog tour! Great to have a trip in the near future.
The best thing since last Friday was probably last weekend at the in-laws' 80th birthday party. Yes, actually. A little extra nice to meet A's cousin among other things.
Yeah, sure. I asked my mother-in-law about the Passion Play. She knew the name and that it was very famous. But she didn't know the story behind it. I'm glad she knew about it anyway. After all, she moved from Germany at a young age and is now 80!
