Swedavia has raised millions for the Red Cross
Passengers and employees at Swedavia's airports collected more than SEK 3.2 million for the work of the Red Cross in 2019. "Extreme weather such as hurricanes, droughts, heat waves and floods are becoming more frequent, more intense and more difficult to predict. The hardest hit are often people in already vulnerable areas where many live in poverty. Thank you to everyone who contributed," said Giomar Nilsson of the Red Cross.

Reflection of the week
You keep hearing about how people are cancelling trips because of the coronavirus, and yet we get press releases saying that travel bookings are increasing. It's a bit difficult to make sense of that?

Ama de casa says:
That the Swedish cuisine is popular with Swedes, we also notice that down here. I don't know how many Scandinavian food shops and restaurants there are here in Torrevieja. And they are all very popular.
Hope Helena is feeling better!

At Kastrup, it is announced today that the situation is like during the Second World War, yes it affects our economy and the world's this virus, hope it subsides and does not come in spurts like other pandemics. Hope it went well for Helena, grew up with a mother with this type of migraine, she was affected even before school age and then you did not know much about what it was. I remember how I sat next to her and drew and read as a 3-4 year old while my older brothers were out, but then she knew where I was. And when dad came home he would cook. We were very happy about it and he was a good cook. Sometimes the attacks lasted for several days, pain, vomiting, dizziness etc. and could come once a week. After menopause it subsided as someone wrote. Thank goodness for menopause 🙂

Thanks Monica, I feel better now even though it takes a while to really get in shape after a terrible attack. You know what it's all about I hear. Yes, I hope it gets better after menopause. But my grandmother thought it only got better after 90, and that's a while away ...

Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
The popularity of Italian cuisine is evident in the cookery evenings. There are many recipes related to it. But Swedish is still very good!
Berlin likes Birgitta and me.
Now I have seen the Gold Bridge pass Helsingborg!

It's a bit contradictory that airlines are reducing the number of flights to different destinations while opening new routes. Oh you are right, how does it go together with allegedly reduced flying and increased bookings. From Sweden there are actually not many options to get out "in the world". Three weeks on a boat or several days on a train are not exactly attractive options, at least not for me.
Nor do I understand why Italian cuisine is always in first place. I wonder what people have eaten here in Sweden, hardly pork knuckles with mashed potatoes I guess;-)

Helena says:
Yes, there are some contradictory messages, aren't there? The Italian cuisine usually comes out on top, but we would rather vote for the French one 🙂.
