It's time for us to join a photo challenge again. In March the theme was "transport" and this month the theme is "water". The photo challenge is a way to challenge ourselves - but if anyone wants to join in, that's great!

Photo challenge in April
It is the travel blogger Maria's memoirs which has launched the photo challenge and the theme for April is "water". So it's all about everything that has to do with water and waterways. We live in a houseboat on the water, so we think the challenge is a good fit for us, but we mainly wanted to show photos of water from our travels.
We have lots of photos on water, so it's not easy to choose. To limit myself, I chose three sub-themes, and then a maximum of three photos per theme. The themes are: sea, lakes and play in water.
1. The sea
We love the sea and like to head for the coast when we travel, whether by motorhome or otherwise.
Doolin, Ireland
We travelled around Ireland by motorhome for three weeks in spring 2018. In Ireland, the sea can be wild and powerful, like here in Doolin at Cliffs of Moher.
Sperone, Corsica
We visited Corsica when we travelled around Europe by motorhome for a whole year in 2015. Sperone was a bit like paradise, with its clear waters and beautiful beaches.
Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt
If you like diving or snorkelling, the Red Sea in Egypt is a great place to be. Here, for example, in Sharm el Sheikh, you can experience the colourful life below the surface.
2. Lakes and rivers
If we're not by the sea, we love to seek out lakes and rivers. There's just something special about water!
Lago di Braies, Italy
We visited the lake Lago di Braies in the Dolomites with a motorhome in summer 2018. Although the weather was bad, this was a magical place.
Plitvice Lakes, Croatia
There are many fine national parks in Croatia, including Plitvice perhaps takes the prize as the most beautiful. We visited this amazing place in autumn 2015.
Ardeche, France
We visited Ardeche in France with a motorhome in the summer of 2018. This place was so beautiful and special, we would love to go back.
3. Play in water
Water doesn't just mean beautiful views and calm boat rides. We end with some more playful photos.
Yalta on the Black Sea, Russia/Ukraine
In the summer of 2008 we went on a sun and sea holiday to Crimean peninsula with Peter's youngest son Billie and his cousin Pontus.
Zadar, Croatia
Last year, in 2019, we visited beautiful Zadar in Croatia. Here we saw some boys playing at the sea organ, which makes music from the movements of the sea.
Rotoroua, New Zealand
In 2006 we made an exciting trip to New Zealand with Peter's two sons, Robin and Billie. One of the highlights was rafting on the North Island.
Do you have any special water-themed photos or memories?
Feel free to tell us, or make your own post with the photo theme "water".
Maria's memoirs says:
So fun that you wanted to participate again, and fun interpretation on the theme ?? Especially liked the sea pictures as you got both wild sea, calm turquoise paradise water and the sea under the surface.

Fun theme and water always attracts. Lovely pictures! And think like you that it is good to limit yourself. Of course we also have many memories and pictures where water is involved. I am drawn like a magnet to water. And am surrounded by it here at home on the quay. But with solid ground beneath us.

What places you have visited and the sea, lakes and rivers. There are so many places you have visited that I have on my list.
We will visit Northern Ireland in the near future because our friends live there. My daughter has recommended Croatia and my father has been to New Zealand which he liked very much. What memories you carry in pictures.
