Lida Outdoor Centre and Nature Reserve

Lida Friluftsgård is a popular and well-liked place, and it's not hard to see why. The farm has 35 kilometres of hiking trails, jogging trails and ski trails. At Lida there is also a swimming area by Lake Getaren, a ski slope, a high-altitude course and outdoor golf.

Through Friluftsfrämjandet, there are fairytale-themed nature trails for children and a newly launched "Naturparkourpark" for children who want to climb, jump, crawl and discover nature in a new way. Many different competitions, events and camps are also organised here.

Lida Friluftsgård and nature reserve is located just south of Tullinge, in Botkyrka municipality in Stockholm County. We went here one day about a week ago, together with our neighbours Johan and Erica, to walk the Adventure Trail around Lake Getaren. It was a fantastic day!

Lida Inn

When you park in Lida, you can immediately see the inn, which is located on a small hill. There is a restaurant that serves lunch and coffee, and you can also organise a conference or party here. There is also a hostel in the area and the Naturport picnic hut, with microwave ovens and a small exhibition about animals and nature in the Lida nature reserve.

Lida sports church

Right next to the inn you will find Lida sports church. This is a cute little church, located with a fantastic view of Lake Getaren. The church was built in 1957 with the help of donations and voluntary work, and belongs to Friluftsfolkets Gudstjänstkommitté.

Acropark high ropes course

There are many different activities at Lida Friluftsgård, but the one we saw most of was the Acropark high-altitude course, which seemed to be very popular. Here we saw many families and children who wanted to try exciting climbing adventures.

Hiking trails in Lida Nature Reserve

We chose to walk the Adventure Trail around Lake Getaren, but there are also many other trails and hiking paths around Lida Friluftsgård. The Sörmlandsleden (which is about 1000 kilometres long in total) passes through here. There are also three trails that have orange labelling:

  • Lida - Brantbrink 5.2 km
  • Lida - Storvreten 4.8 km
  • Lida - Harbro 6.6 km

There is also Friluftsfrämjandet's "Sinnenas Stig" and "Skogsmulles Hjulspår", where you can get around with a pram and wheelchair. For younger children there are four short (300-700 metres) adventure-themed trails:

  • Forest mulch trail
  • Fjällfinastigen
  • Laxestigen
  • Nova ladder

Adventure trail in Lida nature reserve

We walked the Adventure Trail, which our neighbours had walked once before, but in the other direction (you want some variety!). It turned out to be a really nice hike. The adventure trail is about 9.5 kilometres long and goes around Lake Getaren. The terrain is wild and hilly, which is also why the trail is called "Äventyrsstigen".

Helena och Peter vid Äventyrsstigen

You climb over logs and stones, sometimes down into deep ravines and then up to high altitudes with fantastic views of the lake.

It is an extremely green and beautiful hike and the forest sometimes feels like a real magic forest, with fallen trunks and dense moss. In one place you can write in a guest book, which is kind of cute!

Lida naturreservat

We found a nice place to eat our packed lunch, overlooking the lake. The spring sun was burning hot and it was really, really nice. We also had the chance to have a long chat with our nice neighbours.

Fika

At the end of the tour, we first passed a cute little farm with sheep, and then marshland with a small bird watching house. Then we were back again at Lida Friluftsgård. This was a super nice tour, which we can highly recommend!
