Paul Taylor Lanthandel in Sundbyberg is a restaurant with climate-smart, modern and above all really good food. The restaurant is run by Paul Svensson and Tareq Taylor, who are known from TV, among other things. We visited the restaurant this weekend and left really, really satisfied.
Table of contents
Paul Taylor Lanthandel
Paul Taylor Lanthandel is located in Sundbyberg, in what feels like an ordinary residential neighbourhood. We cycled past with our friends Lennart and Beata, when we happened to be very hungry. We had actually planned a slightly simpler and cheaper alternative, but it ended up here because our friends recommended the place. hot.

The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, while you can feel that the focus is on good food and good ingredients. The guys behind the counter work concentrated and there are few, well-balanced dishes instead of many. There is an outdoor terrace, but we still chose to sit inside. Right now it is extra sparse between the tables, and there was no congestion so it felt good.

Paul Svensson and Tareq Taylor
Paul Svensson has worked as a creative director for famous city centre restaurants such as Bon Lloc and Fredsgatan 12. In 2003, he managed to get fifth place in the Bocuse d'Or, the world championship for chefs. He has also published cookery books, and is known from TV, from the programme The Battle of the Cooks.
Tareq Taylor has run several restaurants in Malmö and published seven maths-themed books. He has appeared on a variety of TV programmes, such as Go'kväll, Historieätarna, Plus, Sommarlov and his own series Tareq Taylor's Nordic Cookerywhich was broadcast in over 100 countries.

Dinner
There are usually only two dishes to choose from - one meat and one vegetarian - but the menu is constantly changing. We chose the "meat option", which on this particular day was a bbq brisket of grass-fed beef served with asparagus, carrot crudité, tomato salsa fresca and grilled cucumber with yoghurt. Everything that was put on the table tasted just right. fantastic good. Our friends have lunch here sometimes and they told us that the concept is a bit similar, but cheaper of course.

For dessert, a cake was served which was also super good. We also luxuriated with the whiskey Älv from High Coast Distillery. A perfect ending!

Sustainable focus and Agricultural trade
The entire restaurant has a sustainable focus, which permeates everything from ingredients to cups. They say they use ingredients that are available at the time of year and avoid suppliers who spray their crops or use antibiotics in their animal feed. In one corner of the restaurant is a small farm shop. Here you can buy fresh and pickled vegetables, oils, jams, cookery books and much more.

Beata couldn't resist and a few cans went on the bikes after the restaurant visit.

Nice evening
It was a very pleasant evening at Paul Taylor Lanthandel. We talked and laughed and, if the picture is to be believed, we had some serious discussions too. Well, not so serious perhaps.

Johanna in Skåne says:
Fun! In March, just before everything shut down, I attended the National Aquaculture Conference in Åhus. Paul Svensson gave an interesting talk and had composed the menu for the evening (prepared by the local chefs). The food was, among other things, wallenbergare of fish grown in fish stables (i.e. indoors in a barn), the texture and flavour was very good.

Johanna in Skåne says:
I was on a study visit to a fish stall and the founders of the company Gårdsfisk explained that there were no laws and regulations regarding this type of activity so they had to (with the help of the municipality and the county administrative board) simply launch the word to be able to apply for a licence ?

Aha, interesting! Not easy with all the rules 😉 (Reminds me of how tricky it was with rules about houseboats until they decided that we live in a "small house on unoccupied land" ;)).
