Swedish National Culinary Team's Olympic menu served at Viking Cinderella
On Thursday 20 August, the first Baltic Sea cruise of the autumn departed with Viking Cinderella from Stadsgårdskajen in Stockholm. The same evening was the premiere of the Swedish national chef team's Olympic menu served in the à la carte restaurant on board. Hobby Leisure invites you to a long weekend when Elmia is cancelled
This year's caravan fair at Elmia has been cancelled, but at Hobby Fritid in Tenhult preparations are in full swing for the "fair days" 9-13 September. "We have created a really good programme at home with new models, a large outlet, technicians offering smart tips, activities for both children and adults and lit barbecues," says Niklas Dahlin, sales manager at Hobby Fritid in Tenhult. During "Long Weekend at Hobby Fritid", the Public Health Agency of Sweden's general advice and regulations are followed to prevent the spread of infection.
New rules could ease motorhome tax
The government now wants to make the rules for parking motorhomes more flexible. This is reported by several media outlets. Currently, a motorhome that is parked is taxable even during the parked period if it is 15 days or less. Under the new proposal, the 15 days will be reduced to four. The background to the proposal is the sharp tax increase that took place in connection with the Bonus Malus system, and the massive criticism that this led to. According to the Swedish Caravan Industry Association, the change is not sufficient.

Vincents Husbil & Husvagn in Varberg is continuing its concept of selling motorhomes and caravans on behalf of the vehicle's owner. "For every new Vincents Service Centre that we open at Mekonomen, we feel more and more that the collaboration with Mekonomen really has great potential", says Vincents Schaffler. There are already collaborations in Moränen in Malmö, Haninge in Stockholm and Marieberg in Örebro.
Flying start for Air Gotland
The newly launched Gotland airline AirGotland started operating on 13 August. The customer reception has exceeded all expectations and the booking pressure caused the web to crash for a short time the day after the launch of airgotland.se. "Success! There is no other way to put it", says Tiina Mykkänen, CEO of AirGotland. Now AirGotland is also giving its travellers the opportunity to reduce the emissions of their trips by booking 'green flight tickets', for biofuel.
Reflection of the week
Travel news is "slower" this year than usual. That is, fewer press releases land in our inbox. However, it feels like a higher percentage than usual is about motorhome life or camping.

BP says:
That it is slow with travel news is quite logical in these corona times, but heavenly fun for Air Gotland who got a flying start - in a double sense.
