Has FREEDOMtravel become a moving, building and everyday blog? Yes, you can really wonder! The thing is that in the last week only dedicated to this kind of work, and there is no point in trying to blog about anything else. You just have to follow our everyday life!
Blidö in the Stockholm archipelago
We have now moved on from the Uppland coast (where we helped Peter's mum to move from house to apartment) to Blidö, where we are now helping Peter's brother to extend his house. They have had the house on Blidö for a long time as a summer house, but now they live here permanently and therefore they want to expand the house into a larger year-round villa.
Peter's brother is a skilled builder, but the schedule has become very tight, partly because he has spent a lot of time helping his mum. Now a new kitchen is about to be delivered and it was getting really stressful ... We're here to help, and so are some other relatives.
Construction work
To be honest, I (Helena) have not made any major contributions to the construction, not yet anyway. However, Peter, who has had his own construction company for many years, has been able to contribute all sorts of things. Among other things, he has installed plinths, mouldings, fitted doors and cut down wardrobes to fit in a room with a lower ceiling than the height of the wardrobes.
Instructions can be tricky sometimes, and this instruction for a door handle probably took the prize. How can assembling a small door handle be so complicated?
In fact, it was just like that complicated. The instructions didn't help either, but when Peter and his brother's wife put their heads together, it worked out in the end.
A busy week
It has really been a busy week, and at the same time our own work has suffered. We need to fix a lot of things with both the motorhome and the houseboat, and we also have some work to do with both the web shop and the company. But that will have to be another week simply ...
Lena - good for the soul says:
Gosh, how stressful that a silly handle was complicated to get in place when there seems to be so little time anyway! Crazy!
Someone will come your time too 😉

It sounds like you are having a really stressful time right now. You must promise to rest properly later... 😉.

Helena says:
Yes, we're looking forward to that "later", whenever it comes 😉.

Great recognition on this?. We have been building and renovating since we realised that it will take time before we go away again?. The more difficult it feels to travel, the more renovation plans come up...
Good luck with all your construction! / P

Helena says:
Haha, I get it! Yes, there are probably unusually many people who have started construction and renovation projects this year!

Wow, wow, wow. Much to stand in, really! Hope it calms down somewhat soon. Or that it even calms down a lot 🙂 ðŸ™'

A lot came up at the same time. But maybe next week can be calmer. I hope so.

You are good at helping each other! And to think that it always has to clump together like that. But what to do ...?! You just have to grit your teeth and breathe a sigh of relief, I guess.
I hope you can now get on with the other, but at a slightly slower pace.

Helena says:
Yes, now it was all at once. Hope for a calmer week ahead (although now you have postponed a lot of things;))

Wow, how hard for you! But I understand that it is much appreciated.
Unbelievable that with the handle. I get tired just looking at the photo!
Take care! ❤️

Helena says:
It's especially hard to follow those instructions when you start to get tired 😉 Have fun Anna!

Somehow it seems that everything is coming together. A number of years ago, my old father + two daughters moved almost at the same time and we felt like a Removal & Cleaning Company, while our own home and garden got no time.
Now try to get some time for recovery and it will surely be good. We also have time optimists in our environment, not easy to change them, it's probably in the genes! Breathe!

Helena says:
Yes, it's strange that everything should happen at the same time! Thanks, we'll try to take it easy.

As I wrote yesterday, I like your moving, building and everyday blog. Quite nice that not everything is perfect as it usually is on your blog. But that it can get stuck even for you sometimes. And when it does, it does it a lot, like right now. Almost too much. No point in hitting the wall. Finish one project and then start on the next, don't try to get everything done at the same time, then nothing will be good.
Take it easy before you go crazy, a guy in Gambia told us. That was his motto, and it fits you perfectly right now.
PS. Thank goodness your mum uses a removal company. Smart woman:-) DS.

Nice to hear that our moving, building and everyday blog is appreciated 🙂 But wow, does it usually seem like everything is perfect? I probably have to do something about that, because it's really not ... 😉 .

Hello and hope! Seems like autumn is hectic? But we recognise it! A lot you want to do before you hibernate...;D Today, the husband continues to fix the Defender and I have planted flower bulbs for the spring. I have also sown a lawn. ... and picked up the potatoes and moved strawberry plants... Now it's time to continue inside to clean out and remodel the bedroom. My husband said the other day: When will we have time to just live? Calm down! Soon it will be winter! ...and Christmas crafts!!! 😉 No, now I got a craving for coffee... The room can wait! Have fun and take care of yourselves!
