With autumn getting darker, don't you want something to look forward to? If you can't make any big trips, it's important to find smaller trips, excursions or other small highlights to look forward to. We're planning a little mini-trip.

A little autumn trip

When we recently wrote travel news, we became curious about the Christmas cruises to Visby with Silja Symphony. It sounded nice! The cruises go on 27 November, as well as 4, 11 and 18 December. We will travel on the first cruise, in collaboration with Tallink Silja, and we are really looking forward to this!

Cruise to Visby with Silja Symphony

On day 1, the cruise starts with departure from Värtahamnen in Stockholm in the afternoon. On day 2 you arrive in Visby at 10 am. You then have the day in town, and at 17:00 in the afternoon/evening the ferry leaves for home again. Day 3 arrives in Stockholm just after lunch.

Cruising in coronavirus times

Our experience so far of cruising in times of corona is that it feels like a relatively good way of travelling, although everyone must of course make decisions based on different conditions.

Tallink Silja describes that they follow the authorities' and Visita's guidelines to reduce the spread of infection. This means, among other things, that the number of passengers is limited, that there are restrictions on how many people can stay in shops at the same time, that there is a distance between the tables, that hand sanitiser is offered, etc.

Do you also want to tick?

Did you also get the urge to cruise? If you want to go on the same cruise as us, please get in touch, and maybe we can get together at some point during the trip! It would be fun!

Visiting Visby

Visiting Visby will be really fun! We have both been very little on Gotland. Peter hiked and camped with the scouts when he was 15 years old, and that was "some" years ago after all. I (Helena) have made a few visits for work purposes, always in the winter months. Now there will be winter visits again, but this time I don't have to spend time in meeting rooms.

It will be interesting and hopefully very nice to experience Visby. According to Tallink Silja, cultural events, local food, market stalls and Christmas shopping await, and that doesn't sound too bad!
