In 2020, Swedes have not travelled much. If you are one of the lucky few who managed to get away this year, you should be happy. The rest of us have had to sit at home. However, we miss the sand between our toes, the beautiful sunsets and the delicious drinks.

No one knows when we will be able to travel as normal again, but we can hope. We can always hope that life is back to normal next year, and thus we can also start planning for next year's trip. Now that we have stayed at home in Sweden for such a long time, we also deserve a somewhat larger trip. But a bigger trip is also more expensive ... It goes without saying.

Feeling empty in your wallet? With these 3 tips, you can save money for next year and finance your trip!

1. Save, save, save

Of course, our first tip is to start saving. It's an obvious strategy for getting away next year. Think about the warm sand at your feet, the lovely morning dips and the amazing food. Does it appeal?

Well, it's time to scrap that expensive coffee you buy on the way to work every morning. Time to cancel that gym membership you never use anyway. And time to stop eating out several days a week. After all, isn't it worth minimising some of the everyday luxuries in order to enjoy a longer holiday next year?

2. Invest your money

Is it impossible for you to work a few extra hours at your current job or take a job on the side? Don't worry, there are other ways to increase your personal capital, one of which is to start investing your money. Today, there are a variety of investment opportunities, ranging from shares to cryptocurrencies.

You don't have to be wealthy or a professional. All you need is a few hundred dollars to start with and some common sense. Watch your capital grow slowly but surely and hopefully you'll have a few extra grand within a few months.

But, note that investing also comes with its risks. Never start investing if you don't have money in advance, and always read up on the investment method you decide on before you get started. Again, use your common sense.

3. Betting on sports online

Another way to earn a few extra hundreds, or even thousands, a month is to start betting on sports. Choose your favourite sport, read up on the sport, your chosen team and its players. Bet on the outcome of a match. If you are right, you win! That's all there is to it. It is much safer than using your money at an online casino, for example.

In addition, if you choose to play on gaming companies in Sweden you also guarantee that they are regulated by the Swedish Gambling Authority. In this way, you avoid fraud and can instead watch your piggy bank dedicated to your dream trip grow heavier and heavier. Here too, however, it is important that you are aware of the risks, and that there is a increased chance of gambling addiction. You still want to go on your dream holiday, right? Then don't waste all your money!
