This weekend we had a real food frenzy here in the houseboat. It was as if we needed one last really good gluttony before we got to grips with our eating habits. A change was simply needed. Happy Friday!

When (after all) it feels a bit dull
Last weekend, we suddenly found that everything seemed... so boring. It's really not a pity for us, we know! We are healthy, we live nicely and we are not unemployed (although the corona has reduced our jobs and income). We are also not completely alone, because we have each other. So we have really no reason to complain.
Still, that feeling came over us. That there is nothing to look forward to or plan for. You shouldn't even be socialising. So what did we do? We took the electric bikes to the fish shop (and Systembolaget) and set up a real party for ourselves.
Food cravings last weekend
It was a real food frenzy all weekend! The first day we started with our favourite crab. Actually, we started with oyster. And then there was some prawns. And then there was crab. What a party!
The next day it was another one of our favourites, i.e. seabream. This Mediterranean fish can also be called guldsparid in Sweden and in southern Europe it is called dorada or similar. Absolutely fantastic to cook on the grill in the oven! We usually serve it with rice, broccoli and an herb sauce.
On the third day of the weekend we hit the perchwhich is also a favourite. Peter served it with homemade parmesan mashed potatoes and quick-fried vegetables. Fantastically good!
From the shrimp left over from day 1, I made a breakfast shrimp sandwich with eggs and mayonnaise. Wow what a tasty start to the day!
Jogging and new eating habits
How are things going with jogging then? Yes, thank you, very good! We may not jog every weekday morning, but almost. In any case, it has become 3-4 times a week during the last five weeks. It feels good! But it is not enough to make us feel good.
You may remember that Peter did two examinations (colonoscopy and gastroscopy) a while ago? Not fun at all. Now the test results are in, and they say everything is fine. But why does your stomach hurt if everything is fine...? The next step is an X-ray.
In the meantime, we thought it would also be a good idea to have some weight loss. Jogging is good, of course, but it's not really enough if you really want to make a change. So now we've had a major rethink and we've started with good eating habits. We'll tell you more on Wednesday!
Best this week
The best thing about this week is definitely that we have taken this food and health thing seriously. At first it felt a bit boring, but now it feels really good! Is there anything you can highlight as positive from your week?
The week ahead
The first thing we are going to do now is to help my (Helena's) mum pack for her move. What happens next? We don't really know yet, but follow the blog and you'll find out! You can also follow us on Facebook and on Instagram.

Great that it still flows reasonably well with the jogging! Good there! 🙂

Great job (jogging 😉 ) by you and the food looked great! Although I prefer to eat filleted fish where someone has been kind enough to remove (most) of the bones 🙂.
The week has offered wonderful weather and meetings with good friends outdoors. Now we are allowed a maximum of 6 people in a party whether we are at home or out, so you have to divide it all up a bit.
Even though we are not allowed to travel, as you say at the beginning, it is not at all a pity for us. We are healthy and have each other. That goes a long way.

Fillet is nice too! But the seabream is good after all, all the bones are cleaned in a neat row and the fish meat is easy to pick off, without getting a single bone 🙂 Enjoy!

What a great seafood feast!
I myself have dropped a coconut ball in the keyboard 😀.
Jokes aside, the most enjoyable part of the week was probably when the workplace organised a zoom meeting with a Nobel theme: Trumpet fanfare, a poem by Louise Glück and two interesting presentations related to two of this year's Nobel prizes and our activities (the Swedish Board of Agriculture). A relief from the sadness of the sweatpants!

But what a nice zoom meeting it sounds like! 🙂 Wishing you a nice weekend!

We think your feast last weekend was really healthy and wholesome (perhaps apart from the parmesan mashed potatoes and a slightly too fatty side dish) so it will be fun to see how healthy your diet will be in the future.
We also get into such boring episodes sometimes even though we don't really feel sorry for ourselves... just a little bit maybe....

The fish is indeed healthy, but it's that it comes with some accessories (which did not quite stick in the picture) such as wine, cheese and biscuits and so on ... Tasty, but dangerous 😉.

Dregel, dregel! Now your food was as appetising as the last two pictures in the post. Oysters count as health food, as well as seabream and crab - yum! Just skip the mashed potatoes and you are in harbour;-)

Oh, so good! Seafood - my favourite food!!! You have indulged in healthy food and running several times a week is great!
I find it difficult to find time to exercise now, I don't want to go to the gym right now with the restrictions that exist now. And if you work full time, it's dark (and wet and cold...) when you get home. Not so tempting to go out then. Miss my exercise - it's a big part of feeling good - to exercise or move!
Good luck with your continued healthy life, you seem to be well on your way already!

What a wonderful weekend of gluttony. But it seems to have been a rather healthy gluttony 🙂 .
The best thing of the week was probably that a meeting with the municipality was booked. It was a little uncertain right up to the last minute whether it would be possible, so it was nice that it was booked.
