A cancelled fair and a week full of video meetings and TV shows. What a strange time we live in. But it's Friday and we wish everyone a Happy Friday!

Cancelled fair
Yesterday it was actually time for the industry travel fair. Travel News Market. For a long time, it was assumed that the fair would actually take place - only with pre-booked meetings and plexiglass between exhibitors and visitors, of course. But then, just two days before it was due, the fair was cancelled. Sad, of course, but still absolutely the right decision in these times.
Video meetings
This must be the year of video conferencing. For my (Helena's) part, it has also been video meeting week. There have been video meetings both with the workplace and with different project teams, and on top of that a video seminar with international researchers in the field of the programme. public health sciences. Then it all culminated yesterday when we both also had video meetings with some of the exhibitors at the cancelled fair (soooo hungry for the Switzerland now!!!).
Nice TV series
We try to stay 'happy', but we have to recognise that it is little boring when everything is suddenly cancelled. Sitting at home watching cosy TV series but luckily you can do it. We have now finished watching the mini-series The Queens Gambit on Netflix, about an American orphanage girl in the 1950s who becomes an international chess champion. Recommended if you haven't seen it!
Fan heater - so we don't freeze
We have also got a fan heater. Our hot air pump, which we have on the lower deck, broke down over a year ago. Unfortunately, it couldn't be repaired and buying a new one is expensive (we would have to bring in the even more advertising to finance such a purchase).
All last winter we "survived" by sleeping on the sofa on the upper deck, where it is warmer. However, I (Helena) complained a lot because the sofa is uncomfortable, because it rocks up there and because it is far too bright for my taste. I would even have preferred the "cold" on the lower deck, but I never had Peter with me ... Now we have invested in a much cheaper small fan heater, which we can run a few hours before going to sleep in the winter. Happy Friday!
Best this week
The best thing this week is probably our little fan heater that allows us to continue sleeping together this winter! And we are extremely happy that it is possible to hold video meetings. After all, you don't have to set up everything! What has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
We will continue to stay home, jog and try to keep our distance. What strange times these are! For the third week in a row, I also try to promise a post about the absolutely amazing Polish city of Łódź.
Did you miss the last Happy Friday? Read the An event with Italian flavours and an excursion to an island in Lake Mälaren.

These are special times now. "I would also have attended Travel Massive, but now I had to hold a couple of meetings digitally. It felt different, but it would not have been possible in any other way. Yes, travelling will probably have to wait a while. Unfortunately.
It's good that you bought a small fan heater because it will be needed. We've had a few different types of heaters when we've had a boat and we wouldn't want to be without one.
Yes, it is different not being able to travel, but there had to be other times.
Have a nice weekend.

Yes, there's not much to choose from right now, video meetings are better than nothing, we think. But of course it's more fun when you can mingle for real! 🙂 Nice weekend!

We bought a gas heater last year (I resisted for a long time) and it is super good for pushing the heat in the living room and then we turn it off. We also bought electric blankets for the beds (I resisted for a long time) and they are great for being able to crawl into a warm comfortable bed and then pretty soon turn them off.
You might wonder why I'm so grudgeful? 😀
Enjoy the warmth in the bedroom 🙂 .

Yes, sometimes you wonder why you resist? I resisted this gadget a bit too at first. It felt like spending money on a temporary thing, plus I don't really know how much electricity it uses. But now I am satisfied 🙂

Thanks for the series tips! I could use some new ones. Here we go through Chicago Fire... Otherwise it's still warm outside and I just picked some roses!!! Strange! Oh, where in Switzerland do you want to go? I'll see if my mum has any favourite places. They lived a few years in Geneva. Happy friday!

That's a cool little fan heater you've invested in. I like the look of it. No, you don't want to be cold, but you also want to sleep in a comfortable bed. Oh, sofa beds are rarely comfortable. Good luck with the little guy! Suggest that you name him/her something, so that he/she lasts a long time;-)

So sad with everything that is cancelled now, but it is of course a must. This must end now! Crazy! Thinking of all the companies that go on their knees and everyone who gets really sick of course!
So sad with such things as heat pumps and things that break! But good that you found a temporary solution!
